It's okay I was told all through the pre season that my observations during their draft year that both Campo twins are ordinary kicks was an optical illusion!

Need a bio-mechanist to help them big time.
People at Glenelg i’m told were very frustrated at the hype - they saw the butchering week in, week out.

Excuse the intrusion. Just watched the end of the reply.
In defeat, I think the Carlton players showed a heap of class and respect for the presentation of the Robert Walls medal.
They were lined up in a guard of honour formation and paid the necessary respect that Robert Walls and the medal deserved.
Not sure the Lions did the same.
Go North.
Love the thoughts, but you're in the VFL thread. :p

Blake Acres has a bulging disc. It’s the same issue that afflicts Walsh. Given his strength is endurance running and getting to contests, I imagine it has affected him quite severely.

That might mean he needs to take the rest of the year off. But let’s see if we can sort him out for 2026 before writing him off altogether.

If that's the case just give him the rest of the year off. Get him right for 2026.

Agree with this.

It was one thing to play him hurt when we were gunning for a potential Grand Final spot, but what's the point this season? Especially when his form is rock bottom. Just put him in cotton wool and get him right.

Ben had 11 touches at 54%

Lucas 15 at 46%

Neither deserve a call up based on today. Ben has had a great 6 weeks leading up to today where he looked a bit tired. Lucas has had 1 good game out of 6.

They’ll both be on the list next year and I don’t think we’ll see either at the top level until then
Never said anything to the contrary. Thought Lucas defensive efforts and running were first class. Though his reading of the play was fantastic.

Yes they're both exhausted. Easy to see.

And if anyone is questioning their place on the list.... Rocks for brains.

I'd give Ben the last few games.

Both players are miles away with their kicking. Ben is the better kick. What I notice is that you see a huge 110% effort that is super impressive followed up by a few 50% efforts. Like Lucas did a massive run down effort, then allowed a few players to run past him easily.

I like them both, but we have youth who are further advanced than both and there's no need to play the Camporeale boys yet. Last few rounds of the season maybe. Good raw footballes but they are raw. Charleson is further ahead than both.

They’d get decimated against Melb seniors on that form. Not too many easy games to ease them into this year. Might be best to let them get develop in the VFL, get another preseason into them and build them up for next year.

What's with their kicking, didn't take after their old man

Which is all well and good, but can't have the most senior player in the team being like that.

Get his shoulders fixed and rested for the rest of the season imo.
You don't like to see it from senior players, but he's put his body through the ringer the last few years, playing some great footy while the team's been flying(ish).
He could be frustrated that his body isn't allowing him to do what he's been doing. Frustrated at the team's performance as a whole.
Not a good look obviously, but willing to give someone who has literally put their career on the line for a few wins get the benefit of the doubt.

An Austin masterstroke-extra.2yrs signed in 2024 with a year left on his contract
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope with a full pre season and hopefully some strength work into his shoulders that he can get back to a quality player. Been absolutely putrid this year.

Reckon it’s the back surgery that has derailed him.
New father & most of that group/creche are too comfortable.

I’ve always rated Power as a coach. I met him about when he first came to Carlton around 2019, and he is an incredible bloke. Very relatable, respectful, and giving of his time. Was highly respected when he worked for the AFL academy as well
So if Power is such a good coach, and we have been in form in the last 8 games, why are we 13th on the VFL ladder?
A good line coach doesn't translate to good head coach.

It's not like he's still finding his feet. He's been at Carlton since 2019, and VFL Coach since 2022.

He's had enough time.

Another chance to push for a VFL finals berth.
The Kangaroos lost to Sydney yesterday.
Frankston play the Bullants (last) today and Coburg play Werribee (16th).

We have two debutants listed.
Cooper Hamilton the social media sensation from GWS and also 194cm Sam Paea who kicked a EDFL record 17 goals for Aberfeldie a few weeks ago and also played in the VFL grand final for Werribee last year (with our Flynn Young).

Only 10 AFL listed players for us and Acres reportedly will be rested. Teams confirmed around 12pm. Forward line dynamics will be interesting with all the listed smalls playing last night.

O'Keefe might be pushing for a senior recall if Harry is not coming straight back, considering he was an emergency last night.

Thanks Swuz. Team will be up against it with the outs. Flynn Riley V Tom Campbell will be a good look. Cooper Hamilton, social media guru, ex GWS is an interesting in. Have to check times of VIC Country V Vics Metro game. Really hoping they don’t clash.

Only 10 AFL listed including the Irish boys, chance for some to shine in more responsible roles as well as for some VFL listed to push their claims for the draft.

Edit: U18 game at 11am should be able to watch both.

Is this Cooper Hamilton a big thing on things other than footy?
