Welcome Patrick 👍

AFTER five seasons on AFL lists, former Tiger and Eagle Patrick Naish will join the Carlton Reserves side in 2024.

Naish brings elite-level experience to the side, playing nine senior games for the Tigers before more recently joining the Eagles in 2022. The 24-year-old appeared in 11 matches for the West Coast Eagles where he averaged over 16 disposals.

Dynamic small forward Ned Cahill has re-signed with the Blues for 2024.

Before joining Carlton Reserves in 2022, Cahill played six senior games across his two seasons with Essendon.
The 22-year-old established himself in the side as an impressive small forward. Kicking 29 and 28 goals in the last two seasons, Cahill led the team’s goalkicking in 2023 alongside ex-teammate Ben Ronke.

THE Carlton Reserves will see the following players depart the football club ahead of the 2024 season: Ben Crocker, Ben Ronke, Ben Moyle, Luke Parks, Mitch Moschetti, Sam Grant and Tyreece Leiu.

Good start, there's five or so more experienced players to add to the squad next.

Need a Parks replacement
Does anyone have some insight into what happened to Parks? He played a few AFL games early on and believe the forum had some excitement about him. Then never saw him again.

Rookie from 2021 = delisted end of '22 (mostly injured in '22 IIRC) but stepped back to continue to play with our reserves last year. Was welcomed around the club but not sure where or what this year holds? Maybe back to the SANFL where we drafted him from (SS Academy player originally).

Is there any VFL thread up for ‘24?
Patrick Naish joins CFC reserves with Neddy Cahill re-signing.
A host of departures.

What is a Patrick Naish?

I knew he was on Richmond and WCE lists, but not much beyond that.

So I looked up his wiki page. It's the most detailed description of a 20-gamer you'll ever see. It's about 5 times bigger than Sam Walsh's page, haha.

rompingwins mk2?

The old boy (Chris) was one of the Tig’s better players in the mid-90’s IIRC.

Patrick wasn’t one of the worst performers over at WCE but may have been involved in the group of players that enjoyed themselves out after a big defeat with an outing frowned upon due a bug going around (that they were vaccinated against)..

Ben Crocker, Ben Ronke, Ben Moyle, Luke Parks, Mitch Moschetti, Sam Grant and Tyreece Leiu.

Some scoring avenues departing with Crocker & Ronke (Fantasia snuffing out his chances you’d think), will need to be developed or replaced with recruits.
T.Leiu really fell off a cliff, was looking good in ‘22 after training with the seniors to last season’s decline and non-selection at the end.

Great news the club keeping promising kids in…

Heath Ramshaw 21yrs
Patrick Dozzi 20yrs
Ned Cahill 22yrs

Liked McMahon 21yrs year as well…

Disappointing to lose Ben Ronke 25yrs, who as a dangerous small forward provided goals and opportunities for others, very good player at the level…

Did well early in the vfl in 22 and got a call-up. Was okay but didn't really take his chance then injured his foot and was out for 16 weeks. Got delisted at the end of the year.

Unlucky but we needed to get rid of a few injury prone players after choosing to stick with the more talented Cunningham and Marchbank. Plus had plenty of coverage in his position with Plow, Marchbank and Kemp.

He's a great interceptor and his disposal improved alot over the years so hopefully he gets a chance again one day

Heath Ramshaw and Liam McMahon have re-signed with the Carlton Reserves.

Ramshaw joined the Reserves in 2021, making four appearances in the side in 2022 in its run to September. Cementing his spot in the side, the 19-year-old played 16 matches with the Blues’ VFL side last season.

After being drafted to Collingwood, McMahon joined the VFL Blues in 2023 where he played 17 games, kicking 18 goals with multiple games — including two four-goal hauls.
Carlton VFL Coach Luke Power said he was delighted to retain the promising duo.

A lot of experience gone should bring Cameron Polson back at the club along with Macreadie to our vfl team.
