With the unveiling of Warney's statue at the MCG today it got me thinking that the club should honour a few of our greats and have statues made and placed at the entrance to Princes Park.

Do you think this would be a good idea and who do you think would me most worthy?

For me I would love to see a statue of Sticks and Jezza taking that mark!!!

For my era (born in '79, found the Baggers in '87 when I moved to Melbourne) it would have to be from Sticks, Braddles and SOS, in that order.

I don't know how it developed exactly, since I never saw them play, but I have a very strong sense that Nicholls and Doull, alongside Jezza, are the guys from our past that MUST be respected above all others.

Served Doull once, when I was working at a servo. It's true, he says feck all.

Not entirely true in all cases. When in his comfort zone I can attest to the fact that on several occasions he graced my mother with tremendous, extremely knowledgeable banter on all things Carlton. :thumbsu:

My favorite player when I was a toddler. I had a Carlton doll, Mum knitted a headband for it and we called it Brucey after the great man. :D

Just keep misinterpreting thread titles lately...

You idiot! :D:thumbsu:

Of those not yet mentioned Bob Chitty please. Possibly the hardest, dirtiest bastard to ever play the game. Led us to victory as Captain in the '45 Bloodbath Grand Final after chopping the top off a finger a week or so before the game. LEGEND!
