Carlton vs Brisbane

Even with our impressive record against them, are we still able to mount a challenge? The Lions were playing better last year, when we gave them an almighty fright at their home ground with an injury depleted team. The only way I see us winning is if Campo, Kouta, Ratten, Fevola, McKernan and Lappin play at their best. Brisbane is a class act, but the 4 points will be more important to us than it is to them. Maybe we hold a sort of psychological advantage against them? I'm not too sure about that one, because we do seem to match up on them better than most teams in the competition (signified from last year's clash).

If we can get to within 5 goals or less aginst them, I'll be happy. I don't think we are good enough realistically to win, but stranger things have happened. Carlton are good value in the betting this round... maybe people are actually thinking we are a chance?

Optimisim feels better than realism at this stage. But if the players believe that they can win, they might get over the line.

We could win or we could get belted. Way to many variables in this one to make an assessment. Hoping for a good game andd that we do not get blown away

Weather may be a factor. Incentive for us to win won't be lacking, after 2001.

We are not playing well atm, but I still hope to win by 2-3 goals.

Won't actually wish you guys luck, but you know what I mean.

If it pusses down, that $4.00 they are offering about Carlton might be worth a flutter.

I actually think if it rains it helps Brisbane's chances more than Carlton's. The bigger Brisbane bodies will be much harder to push off the ball, and skill deficiencies show up even more.

That said I expect almost anything from this game from a win by 10 goals, or a loss of around 20pts. Without taking too much away from Carlton, it will be dependant upon the attitude of the Lions players more than anything else. If they go in not 100% switched on they will be in for a rude awakening.

Hmmm... Voss is doubtful to lineup tomorrow. If this is true, it will reduce the margin down to 3 goals instead of the 5 that I predicted.

I think Fevola needs a haircut... with all that hair, it was obvious that he couldn't see where he was kicking in front of goal last week.
