Good first up win today by the boys, they were a little rusty but over all there were some great signs. But we need to keep this match in context considering the players missing from both sides and the rules etc (namely the interchange rules)...
1. Waite looks sensational at CHB. His last quarter was sensational, the smother the intercepting marks and his run will be great this year. Yes we will be caught out once or twice but that is all about the learning curve.
2. We seem to have found some good players in Pfeiffer & Armfield who could do well this year across a HFF and releave players like Stevens and Judd.
3. Our backline seems set, Bower, Waite, Jamison, Thornton, Saddinton seem to be the guys that Ratts looks set to use all year. And I reckon we just leave them there and let them play, if it costs us a match or two I dont care we need to establish a core backline.
4. Hampson looks set to play 250 plus games for us as our number 1 ruckman.
5. Guys like Murphy, Carro and even Stevens to a certain extent didnt have great days... Murph looked off the boil, Carros skills cost us often today, and Stevens was thrown all over the place by Ratts (FF, FB, MID) he played well in each place but obviously will dominate games when we settle him in the midfield.
6. Fev looked very under done, he will be better for the 3 quarters that he got and hopefully by round one he will be red hot, cant wait to see Juddy hit him lace out.
7. With Hampson dominating it means that between him, Cloke, Kreuzer and Setanta they will keep Hackland out!
8. It was a win interstate... hopefully the boys will take the mental positives of being able to travel and win out of this!
Overall I am excited, and you BF posters without memberships jump on board... go and buy a membership... support the boys so you can say that you were there from the beginning of the reserection!!!

Good performance by the boys, pfieffer looks like he could be handy, Kreuz got a goal with his first kick... good win.

well done, good to win interstate. we weren't outstanding, but still got the win and that says something.

Hampson will be our ruck saviour. Is the best ruckman we have at the club since Mark Porter. I'm so pumped up about this guy it isn't funny.
Pfieffer was very solid. Very impressive today, congrats to the kid.
Jamison continues to impress. Very solid in the back half.
Saddington was lacklustre to say the least.
Cloke was beaten 90% of the time from what i saw. Not the greatest start.
Our centre clearance work will have to be looked at. Got absolutely smashed in the centre today even without the Burgoynes and Cornes'

Add Hampson's performance onto that and it was a very good win. hopefully that was a 1 off for murphy....he played a shocker.

Great to have aan even sread of goals and even better to see all the ruckamn get a goal. How good was pfeiffer.....could have had 3 goals.... senior starter i think..... well done ellard and armfield and vodka was ok. nice mark edwards!

Edwards finally got a game and kept up his pressure but was stuffed by the end and so was fev

we definately got tired at end of quarters, mainly would say due to the heat but will be better for the run.

Boy it feels good to get a win under the belt so early in the year. We got a real fright early, but I'm very proud of the boys to fight off the early deficite to win the game.
Jarrod Waite looked absolutely stunning at CHB, as though he were born to fill the spot. His leap was excellent.
Matty Kreuzer kicking a goal with his first kick in AFL was a real excitement boost for tmyself and would have to be a moral boost for himself.
Marc Murphy's disposal has me a little bit worried at the moment, although I'm sure it's just the average welcome back to footy gitters.
All in all, a solid performance. With more consistancy around stoppages (or just some consistancy would be nice) and we're in for a good year here at Carlton.
