Yep, played awesomely, sorta like he did against Riewoldt early last season.

3. Our backline seems set, Bower, Waite, Jamison, Thornton, Saddinton seem to be the guys that Ratts looks set to use all year. And I reckon we just leave them there and let them play, if it costs us a match or two I dont care we need to establish a core backline.

Have to be happy with that:

1, Our intensity, particularly in the first half was first class.

2, Hampson.....confidence is a beautiful thing

3, Pfieffer. Finally some help for Scotland off half back. Looks a terriffic get for a pre season pick up.

4, Fev..........he hasn't lot it!

5, Waite, a breakout year and will give All Australian half back a nudge

6, We won without Murph, Gibba and Stevo having an impact and of course Judd.

I know Port took off Brogan, Tredrea etc but I think we'll certainly benefit from the run. Promising start.

yeah I would be happy with that... althought I would like to see the big man up forward... loves to kick a goal and I love watching him celebrate it!

After this game, there is no doubt in my mind where he should be playing.

Maybe Thornton will take up his position as the guy whose position we all debate about?

Surgery during the off season, but he still seemed to be able to jump. His hands were far off what they usually are.

Saddington is a spud. If he plays this year then we're going backwards. We have Setanta, Thornton, Waite and Jamison for tall backs. There is no room for Saddo. Heck, even Austin is another guy who could take a spot in the back half.

Well done Blues.
Agree that Saddington shouldn't be playing as i don't he's up to it; I think Bower looks a more likely prospect to play in defence . Jammo looked quite composed for someone with so few games.
The overall game was a pretty good standard I thought as it was the first real hit out for both teams.
Hampson is going to be a real star, sooner rather than later and I agree we found a ready made player in Pfeiffer.

Very impressive performance today.
Particularly impressed with Waite, Pfieffer (don't know how to spell it) Carrots and Hammo.
I'm very happy that we won. Just think that playing practice matches in front of better crowds will get them much better experience and is good for their confidence.
Little dissapointed with Murph, but he just seemed to have a bad day, and we all know what he is capable of.

Forgot to give Eddie a mention. Thought he played very well, as did Houla.
Eddie took a up a lot of the slack generated by Murph's quiet game (Murphy did kick a classy goal though when the game was still up for grabs in the final quarter) and Houla's disposal was first class.

His performance today paled in comparison to last years end of season burst, although there are various times in which he really deserved a hard earned pat on the back.
