Assuming the draw is the same as the last few years, Carlton will play Richmond in the opening match, with Judd and Fevola out for the Blues, Richmond fans want payback and are filled with optimism. Even without Judd, Carlton still have the better midfield and defence while its an even split in the forward lines. Carlton by 25, let the hype begin!

even split forwardlines wtf
u dont have any forwards riewoldt alone takes the cake over your entire forwardline
good luck with fisher:)

I hardly think Judd and Fevola out will minus 83 points from our score.

Tigers for the spoon in 2010.

Actually it was 20 points last time. And given Fev managed 3.9 goals per game last year (including 9 in that match) I wouldn't say you are a lock.

I'm tipping Richmond to win with Carlton winning the rematch later in the year.

Last time we played, Fev got 9. Judd was good in the first half but well held in the second. Just throwing that out there.

I think we are a chance. Without Fev and Judd we can put time into Murphy and whoever their main forward will be. I think with Foley and Cotchin fit, as well as a fully fit Cousins we should have the better midfield. Our defense isn't great but should be able to contain the weak Carlton forward line. Our forwards are always improving and stats show they can put a score on the board when given supply by the midfield.

I think it'll be a fascinating clash with the Tiges winning by 15.

Carlton, albeit narrowly. Both teams are similar though, very average forward lines, midfields that look brilliant on paper and young ruckmen (although Carltons are better).
Don't get me wrong, I'd be over the moon if Richmond won, but I can't see it happening.

Incidentally, the lineup we fielded in Round 1 was the most experienced lineup we fielded for the entire season, with an average age of 24 years and 347 days and an average games played of 98.8. In the period from Rounds 12-16 where we were playing well (for us) our average age was under 23. Says something about what Hardwick should, and probably will do when it comes to team selection in 2010.

Last time we lost because we didn't kick straight and Fev kicked 9. I think we're in with a chance.

carlton by a flogging. richmond makes me laugh hahaha lol

I know what you mean, you must of been pissing yourself with laughter the last time we played you. Will be an interesting game, have to disagree with the OP on the defense statement, don't see a lot of difference there. Will depend out of who plays out of what is left, probably be a close one.

It'll be alot closer than previous times. Both have arguably dodgy defense/forward structure, the game will be won and lost in the midfield. I voted Carlton, and I think I can safely say without any bias that Kreuzer will kick 13 goals :)

If there are no injuries and carlton come out with this list then Carlton will easily beat Richmond (2010 wooden spooners). With McLean replacing Judd, Henderson and Kreuzer replacing Fev and Warnock replacing kreuzer.

B: Bower Jamison Jospeh
HB: Armfield Thornton Walker
C: Scotland Mclean Russel
HF: Carrazzo Waite Simpson
F: Henderson Kreuzer Betts
R: Warnock Murphy Gibbs
I/C: Yarran Hampson Gartlett Houlihan
Em: Robinson Grigg Hadley

Lets go Tigers!!!

This is about the time where the blind optimisim starts every year.

Over a month since H&A season finished, trade period over (Tigers got some ripper deals I am sure), the draft is coming up and Richmond have an awesome pick to stock pile on young talent. Youngsters will improve, "THIS is the season where things will change" etc etc etc

Repeat x 25

Carryon.

And how is this process any different to Carlton's 03,04,05,06,07,08 and even 09 when you consider you couldn't make an impact?

What are you talking about?

Everyone knew 03, 06, 07 were going to be tough years, not a lot of optimisim at all.

04: Excited because of the whole recyled players, hoping for some improvement but no one expected finals....finished 10th from 15 - Tick

05: Genuine excitement after the Wizard cup, finals expected after finishing 10th last year, finished last. Big FAIL.

08: Had Judd, now genuine excitement, expected to improve a lot from the 15th placing the year before (Tigers 16th just quietly), but realistically no one expected finals. Finished 11th. Pass

09: Expectations = finals, Result = finals. Tick.

Richmond :o :o :o

Even this year was expecting top 4 and whatnot with Cousins but finished 15th :o :o

MUCH different to Carlton

Trust me mate, there isn't many Tiger supporters who are optimistic about 2010. Won't have the excitement of 09, that's for sure.
