Carlton win against essendon on fox now now now

A man had contact with him when he illegally dispossed of the ball (dropped it), therefore that's dropping the ball.

You can't honestly say that goal was worthy of goal of the year.
Jamison had no contact with Lloyd, go back and watch the tape. If no tackle was laid how can iy be dropping the ball? You still haven't told me. It was a legitimate goal, never did i say it was worth goal of the year however.

C'mon Eddiebetts, you're putting us all in a compromising position of havig to agree with an Essendon fan rather than a Carlton fan.

That's not dropping the ball, ever.

After doing a fair bit of research (An hour and a half's worth), I have finally realised, unfortunatelly that it was a legitimate goal, but only (maybe) by a fraction of a second. I add maybe because I can't tell how far away Jarrod Waite is from actually making contact with Lloyd, seeing as they are both in line with each other.

There is still doubt in my mind that there was no contact with either Jamison/Lloyd or Waite/Lloyd, but unless I can get a better angle, which I can't, then it has to be left as a goal, but certainly not goal of the year.

To clear it up, it doesn't have to be a tackle for it to be called dropping the ball, just contact.

omg when waite had the ball in the dieing stages and played on then got tackled and turned it over

even when i watch it now i yell WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!

lol

I love everything Eddie does:D

Again, ill post it here, for those who don't know, I have a bear in which I take every where I go. He's got a Carltoin jumper and shorts on with and Eddie Betts badge on the front, and a '19' sewed on the back. Not to mention the Eddie Betts signature on his shorts (you should have seen his face when I showed him:D)

I names him 'Eddie Bear' (cross between Eddie Betts and teddie bear).

Just when he get's the ball I want to scream!

Jarred Waite at his best and worst in just one play. :D

Highlights of the last quarter. :)

How was Setanta's mark and play on. It's more as though he stumbled than ran away from the mark:thumbsu:.

I actually do rate him highly because he deserves to be rated highly.

Round 22 anyone?

high five that:D

he can play forward even midfield

hes a very versitle player:thumbsu:
That game cemented it in my mind that he should play on ball.

Since the St.Kilda game he played amazing football. He almost won us that Saints game (I don't know if that's bad or not!)

Carlos probably didn't know what he was doing!

Take a look at AB and Scotland telling him to slow down after he stripped Lovett of the ball. :D
Haha, you've gotta' love him! Every thing he does is just a good laugh.

no its a good thing that just means when a game is there for the taking and we need players to stand up eddie is one of them, its good to know when there is a game to be one there is more then one player you can count on:thumbsu:

Certainly wasn't dropping the ball, but it should have been in the back, as the replay from behind the goal, shown on the day, clearly showed Lloyd put his hand in Waite's back to edge him under the ball. Something which Lloyd also did in the clash earlier in the year, when he kicked a goal late in the last quarter.

I would suggest the umpires will have been shown a number of replays during this off season, of Lloyd putting his hands into opponents' backs. Expect him to be penalised regularly during the 2008 season if he continues to do it.

He actually used his forearm which i believe is legal. Nonetheless he and Lucas got pinged for the in the back alot this year anyway.

How dodgy was the umpiring in the last quarter of this match? Just watching those highlights and from memory they were pathetic in the last.

I felt the umpires got caught out by the frenetic pace of the game & were often out of position when decisions needed to be made. I think the Round 3 game will be used as an example to all umpires of what positions not to be caught in during a game of such frenetic pace.

Agreed, It didn't effect the result but onee day umpiring like that will.

I still can't believe Lovett missed that goal. 9 times out of 10 he'll kick that goal.
