This game will really come down to the rucks. Cloke and Ackland did pretty well against Hille and Laycock in the NAB cup, and if they can repeat this the we will do well enough to make a close game of it.
If you guys get on top in the ruck......well, lets just say thats where it all went wrong on Sat night.

You will find our rucks to be a lot more ready this time around.

Rucks wont have a huge impact this game.

Look at the freo game, Sandilands rucked beautifully but we still won, good thing this time we are against players our own size.

I'm worried about this game.

We clearly have a better side and if the game was played on paper we'd win comfortably.

But this is a Carlton side that can play great on their day!

Sure we really should win this one, and that's where my tip will lie, but it will come as no surprise if we get rolled!

He did some very special things, but I don't think he was Bendigo's best player. Definately in the best, but there were better. Bolton for one.

He was great and will be a star but i think it was abit of a no brainer taking him Jetta, and Hislop with the picks use had.

The only way Carlton will win is if Stevens and Fevola star, if there shut down we haven't really got a chance

They also have a bloke in there that wanted to bugger off during the off season.

They are ordinary. We should thrash them, but won't. It'll be close. We have to watch that dirtbag lappin. Always plays well against us.

The key will be for us to get on top early. If we can do that, and then carry a decent lead into half time, we should set ourselves up nicely for the second half. The third quarter will also be vital - they don't call it the premiership quarter for nothing, and if we can dominate that as well, well, all we'll need is a sparkling performance in the last, to ensure victory.

I'd say there's a bit more to it than 1-2 key players to stop for each team.

Freo's big 2 kicked 4+ each and we were still able to get up, good signs. We almost won last year untill Eddie Betts stepped up. If our midfield continues to play the way they have been and be able to keep the pressure up then we're in with a pretty good chance.

Mmm yeah. Hird completely skipped my mind- huge danger, and if he breaks loose we are in trouble. Hird and Lucas the two main ones then.

Lloyd did kick seven last time, but for a forward of his stature and capability, and our noted poor backlines of the last 4-5 years, one would think he would have tore us apart a lot more, against guys like Thornton, Manton, Livingston etc. Nothing agaisnt the champ, but he just isnt the guy I look for when the Dons play us. Lucas however, is always a real threat and is playing the best footy he ever has.

This is a danger game because it's probably the first game we've been expected to win and Carlton have a habit of playing well against us. Let's not get cocky because it will take a good game to knock over Carlton.

i don't think lloydy will let the boys take this game easily. after only three wins last year the boys are just as hungry as they were in 2000 for success
