No one should be confident about this game. It is Carlton - just like us playing Freo at Docklands - bogey teams.
We always beat Froe, Carlton always beat us. I'm extremely worried as this is the sort of game I expect us to lose.
If we win and win well, that will be abig step towards proving that this Essendon line up is poles apart to the last two years - lose and I expect another disappointing (albeit more promising) season. It may sound stupid, but the games agasint Calrton and North will tell us more than anything - beating bogey teams is huge for confidence and self belief.

Should be a cracking game.
Both teams nearly always come to play in this game. Very hard to pick a winner, as always, as these games tend to be unpredictable.
If we play like we did last week, you will win. I'm a bit worried about the likes of Davey, Jetta, Lovett running through the middle, and I hope they play ****, just for this week
Once again Fev will be a key, but I think we may look more for our other forwards. Lucas and Lloyd the key for you, Setanta and Waite will get first crack at them IMO.

the big question is will lloyd get reported? is it just me or does he always seem to hit someone only when playing the blues?
ah well. sorry. enough of that. i was lucky enough to be at the MCG a couple of years back on ANZAC day when Lovett won BOG. he was brilliant, and watching last week against freo he looks in good touch. the only bloke i think can get close to him for speed in our team is Kade Simpson and even then he may struggle to keep up. i did regard you folks last year as being a bit slow in the midfield but credit to your recruiting office you appear to have rectafied that.
hope its a good game and not one sided which is my main fear leading into this week.

the funny thing from the freo game was that the two best runs of the game were from lovett and jetta.
the man chasing each of them on both occasions was andrew browne. he is apparantly freo's quickest player and our guys blew him away
