If we're fair dinkum we should flog them. I know you have to show respect for every opponent, but these guys are at rock bottom at the moment, and we need to exploit them as the opportunity presents itself.

The worst thing is, being Carlton they are just as likely to play their one good game of the season and snatch the win.

My cousin is over from Sweden so I'm taking him for his first Pies game since a practice match in 1993. Hopefully the boys will put on a show.

Realistically Collingwood should win and win by plenty however anything could happen in these sorts of games but Carlton dont look all that bad on paper so it should be an interesting clash

Carlton look terrible on paper and we look good. Games aren't played on paper but we shuold really flog them. The one advantage they have over us is in the ruck. That gave them an edge at stop plays this time last year. Hopefully we have learnt from that. We should start setting high standars and try and outscore the opposition every quarter every week.

We should beat Carlton by 12+ goals in reality but whether we are "on" enough to do that remains to be seen. A loss would be a mini disaster but a win by less than 8 goals would be pretty ordinary too.

I wish it were that simple.
Just as we always try harder against the Filth no matter where we are on the ladder, the same applies to them. I think it will be closer than most people think.
Perhaps 4 or 5 goals in our favour.

anything over 3 goals will be a 'good' result ...

I'd expect more, I really want to see Tarrant kick some goals ...

there is no way Carlton will be able to match up on Collingwood, too much talent.

Funny - Neil Balme said last week that Presti and Josh were actually ok to play but they didn't wanna risk them and thought they'd give them an extra week, yet they're still not right to play this week either?!

Would you risk them for Carlton?!??

We should win, without Fraser and Presti, and with Walker :)eek: ) still in the team. If we don't I'll go sick!

Actually I'm a bit worried about Walker in defense, possibly against Mckernan or Fevola. Could be dangerous.

Walker will be ok (if he gets off the bench). Give him a few more chances at senior level and he will be primed for a good season (admittedly probably with Willy). I didn't think he was that bad last week against a very good opponent.

Cloke is back too so we have another defensive option.

Carlton were thrashed by a terrible side in sydney last week by 74 points. The only game Sydney will win this year.

"Carlton are terrible" the papers screamed..not one ounce of credit to the swans.

Yet the magnificent powerhouse, which is Collingwood, almost came close to losing against a hapless and pathetic Carlton who were slow and played an overused tactic.

Yet Collingwood are still stronger than Sydney?

Fear us you maggots..Sydney will shut a lot of people up this year.

15th posse my arse...heck last years unfortunate GF losers almost lost to the rabble which is Carlton last night.

if you were after respect, then you just lost all chance with that comment ;)

I'll think of Sydney as a good side when they start winning against quality opposition, thrashing Carlton isn't gonna surpise many ;)

Flog Carlton like Sydney did last week. Pagan used the same game plan against Sydney last week.

'Flog them'. 'rabble' etc, He he he, would suggest the Maggies got the fright of thier lives last night. Bloodly good game though.

Frosties its good to see you using the Grade Prep formula that if if you beat Sydney by 70pts and we beat them by 16 you are a 54pt better team than us.

We didn't play awefully well, and Carlton took it up to us physically from the start. Every team has bad games. Its the good ones who win them anyway.

Sydney will not win many games not playing at their best as they did in Round 1.

Once we get out backline settled, watch out!

You can't become feared by demanding it you have to actually do something scary.

Yep. All their own supporters. And what blissful silence it will be.
