Overhyped up by their supporters who had them written down to make the Grand Final. Probably end up being 6-8 spot.

Side will look much better with Jamison, Curnow, Robinson, Waite and Hampson in for Warnock when he returns from injury.

No surprise to see Big Footy write a team off after a loss.

Watch out Richmond is all I say.

After last weeks hype a lot of Carlton supporters cut up rough when I said on another thread that they couldn't win the flag. They have improved but are simply not good enough to win it. It is their depth that is most overrated. They have no defensive depth. Teams like Collingwood can play without Swan, Thomas, Jolley, Johnson,Beames, Brown etc and beat a team that is currently in the 8 by 80 plus points. That is depth. Geelong and Hawthorn are the same as the Pies. Carltons depth is so hyped it is ridiculous.

Here we go, it's the media that hype us not the supporters.

We had 4 forced changes and lost Jamison for the better part of the entire game.

WCE played very well though.

Two good teams going at it, one had to lose. No other conclusions can be drawn.

If anything, West Coast have been underated; it was apparent to many within the first 6 games that they were playing a potent football, completely different to last year, with the press, and quick movement to a huge and powerful forward line.

Hawthorn, Carlton and WC seem to be in a battle for 3rd and 4th at the moment (thanks, captain Obvious)

Ah good old big footy. Always quick to jump to conclusions after one game. Teams are going to have off days every now and again and it's certainly no shame to lose to a team that have such a quality forward line. They'll still finish in the top 4.

Carlton, like Essendon were playing their best football at in April. I don't think their fall from grace will be as dramatic, but yeah they have some big gaps and it wouldn't suprise me if they didn't make it past the 2nd week of finals.

Their big men are modest, Iv'e said it all along. And if Jamison misses next week Jack and Vickory will have a party if Henderson and Thorton jog down back on them.

Bog footy is the land of the trolls ..they come out when they sense a weakness ...most commenting in this thread have had their team humiliated by Carlton this year...and are still bitter .;)

The Eagles talls were on fire today ..and losing our fullback set us further behind the eightball ...all credit to the Eagles they played a great game and will trouble a lot more sides come the pointy end of the season .

For Carlton it's not the end of their season. they can regroup and front up next week .

We'll be above your team next week sitting 3rd, and won't be over-hyped due to this loss.

Pretty much the spot you'd want to be in as a dark horse...

by far our worst 22 played today.

Waite, Duigan, Laidler, Curnow, Hampson, Robinson ect all out and all to come back in.

Jamo played 1 qtr.

credit to West Coast for the win, but today was always going to be their day with the lineup we had...

Typical of the knee-jerkers jumping on Carlton after today's loss.

They've been first class this year and can't be dismissed after one poor performance.

They are a lock for third position after round 24 and with a relatively healthy list can do some damage in September.

It's never going to be plain sailing during a footy season and having three games in a row at Etihad Stadium eventually caught up with them today.

One poor game doesn't influence me about my thoughts on the Blues this year. How they respond from today will be more telling.

Didn't see the game as i just got out of emergency so don't know exactly how bad we played but i would think that writing us off as a pretender is a bit premature it seems like we played a bad game to chalk up only our 3rd loss of the season. Don't get to carried away with the doomsdaying.

I don't think the reaction to Carlton's loss would have been this severe had their supporters toned down their arrogance in the past few weeks. West Coast are a good side, but if you want to contend, you have to beat them on your home deck.

Carlton do have a soft run home and will probably make the top four though.

Blues are definitely a top five team and will fight with the hawks and eagles for the top 4 spot. I would be very surprised to see them not in the top 4, and i expect to see the make the preliminary final. The blues are about where the bulldogs have been in the last few years for mine.

Good win for the west coast and well deserved , but all this talk about carlton being over hyped is a bit silly, we are with out curnow, duigan, robbinson, waite and laidler all who are in our best 22 , and jammo went down early , in saying that hawks are missing alot and still won against essendon , but there is quite a diffrence between essendon(atm) and westcoast
