Very happy overall. Still would have thought we'd take at leat one tall, but very happy to get Robinson and ROK with those picks, was hoping we'd get guys with good foot skills like them.

Lets be realistic here OB. There's only about four or five players there who are genuine KPP types/size - the majority are rucks or undersized 'third option' types. ;)

I'll admit to being surprised and a tad disappointed we didn't secure a genuine KPP type with one of our last two picks but i'm VERY satisfied overall. Getting Robinson and ROK2 with #40 & #65 is daylight robbery! :D

Just watching some of Yarrans's highlights from the WAFL and other. This guy is impressive, very very impressive. Talented, and has a bucketload of poise and confidence in traffic. Very good overhead, and nice skills on both sides. A gifted small-medium forward with midfielder potential. Rich was the only other possibility, but we chose right with Yarran. Rich is a standard clearance type midfielder, but lacks the finishing polish Yarran has. Lions did well though. BTW I am amazed the Tiges let Ziebell slip, although they were getting pretty desperate for a ruck. :)

Chris Yarran,

Read some of the comments on the Draft and Trading board about our draft. According to some, we had a poor draft because we didn't take any KPP and added 3 more midfield type players.

Pfft. What would they know. I actually think we did very very well. Getting Yarran, Robinson, O'Keefe and Tiller is an outstanding job by WH and the recruiting department. Aside from Tiller, the other 3 could really press for some serious game time in the 1st 22 next year.

Easy answered, the blokes that were available at our picks were simply too good and highly rated to pass up. At 80 off the top of my head, I cant think of any highly rated KPPs that were there.

I'm very disappointed Gilly and HBF, because I have to like you guys that little bit more now. Army, Ellard and now the best of the lot, Yarran, from Swans I can't hate you guys. :D

Thanks Gilly but i actually did understand why this was the case, which is why, overall, i'm more than satisfied with our haul. I just think that the IDEAL balance would have included a KPP. Perhaps Cahill at #65?

Nonetheless i'm happy with our work today. :thumbsu:

Try none Gilly.

Just a few KPP with fans around the traps still left at 80:

Lance Daly
Jake Walsh
Tom Hill
Steve Gaertner
Casey Sibosado
Riley Milne
Alex Silvagni
Levi Casboult
Lucas Markovic

To me Tiller was a bit of a surprise as his field kicking can tend to be ordinary (though he is ok at shots on goal - his problem is he tends to get under the ball )

I'd be amazed if any of those players were on our radar at 80. Just on one of those - Sibosado - nothing I saw of him this year suggested he'd be drafted.

Thats it at the end of the day. It would have been nice to add another KPP, but at the end of the day, you're cutting off you nose to spite your face if you pass on people you rate highly to get one
