I mean he wasnt permanent full back right off....cemented in as it were... and because the team was so strong after he had glandular fever he wasnt automatically back...even missed the 86 GF...but I arent trying to compare them, who knows what will happen..only saying that I think Jsos will be ok and in my view has one thing that cant be undervalued...a footballers instinct..I will take that before speed or strength
Let’s not compare JSOS to the full back of the century. A better reference is how he compares with other pick 53s in the draft. On that basis I’d say he’s tracking pretty well.

JSOS didn’t come to Carlton as a complete footballer. He was/is pretty raw but he has talent and footy smarts. He also has determination and dedication, so there is definitely something to work with.

In 2019 there is a good chance that he will be overtaken by more talented players on the list but that doesn’t mean he’s finished, it just means that he will continue developing his game in the VFL, away from the AFL spotlight. That could actually be a good thing for Jack’s game.

I hear this word a lot ..'footy smarts' it doesn't mean anything ..how smart do you have to be on the footy field plz ..even dumb ones can play the game ..I give you Eddie Betts

That is easily the worst post I have ever read on big footy, I hope you edit it before the regulars wake up and read it. When stupid people make comments about other people’s intelligence....

Eddie has footy smarts, infact he has the smarts full stop a great mentor

It's about creativity and decision-making as it relates to the the game, but I suspect you know what I meant.

Creativity give me a break .what are we playing chess on the footy field are we and .decision making is got to do with pressure ..some panic with the ball more than others

I was told yesterday Carlton looking to swap pick 1 in a 3 way swap of picks

Gc trading pick 3 to either port or crows
Will get either 5 15 port or 8 13 crows

Gc then to trade pick 2 and pick 15/13
To Carlton for pick one

Gc want to ensure they get lukousis
Carlton will then select Walsh pick 2

Wasn't gold coast after walsh.. that's alright we get a free pick in the late first round for nothing ..take it and run .

Its about being able to read the play and know where players are more likely to be by the the end of your disposal and whether that position is advantageous to your side or not. People say "footy smarts" but you could also think of it as intuitiveness.

Not unreasonable deals, but if rumours are correct, we will pick Walsh at 1, so no reason for GC to trade pick 2 as Lukosius, will be there, unless of course, we want Lukosius at pick 1

If that was right we successfully have fooled Gold Coast into being unsure of what we doing with pick one. I will believe it when I see it. The smart thing for Gold Coast is simply use their picks as is.

You and I have different views on the game and I don't really understand the point you are trying to make.

I'm guessing you don't rate JSOS. Fair enough. You obviously don't rate creativity and decision-making either.

I don't buy it . We know where teammates are gonna be after the disposal of the ball .either to the side of you or few metres in front if disposing by hand or further down the field if disposing by foot . ...every player can read the play plz its not that hard ..about your disposal being to an advantage is usually looking for an option with lesser opposition players around for that targeted area[/QUOTE]
