Let’s not compare JSOS to the full back of the century. A better reference is how he compares with other pick 53s in the draft. On that basis I’d say he’s tracking pretty well.I mean he wasnt permanent full back right off....cemented in as it were... and because the team was so strong after he had glandular fever he wasnt automatically back...even missed the 86 GF...but I arent trying to compare them, who knows what will happen..only saying that I think Jsos will be ok and in my view has one thing that cant be undervalued...a footballers instinct..I will take that before speed or strength
JSOS didn’t come to Carlton as a complete footballer. He was/is pretty raw but he has talent and footy smarts. He also has determination and dedication, so there is definitely something to work with.
In 2019 there is a good chance that he will be overtaken by more talented players on the list but that doesn’t mean he’s finished, it just means that he will continue developing his game in the VFL, away from the AFL spotlight. That could actually be a good thing for Jack’s game.
