Wow one of those deals which we won’t know anything about really until end of next season.

Both sides taking a gamble and you can look at it from both sides. Either way, both clubs needed big balls to pull that trigger and what will be, will be!

I think others are right, next year pick mature age, if he nominated us and is worth a first round pick, they would take ours at 3 or Adelaides at 10, just depending on which one we have.

Adelaide
in: McAdam, Pick 13 (made up of 2 x 2nd round picks) & Carlton 2019 1st (we hope it is atop 2-4 pick)
Out: McGovern, Pick 19 & 2019 1st (we hope it is between pick 15-18)

If you guys rise up the ladder and you may with all your in's and we don't hit the ground running, then you win the trade period with us clearly as it might be a pick 6-7 for pick 10-12 + pick 19). If as we hope you guys finish bottom 2-4 and we have a great year with our draw and less injuries etc, then that 2019 pick swap will be big for us and I think we win the trade, but all in all, it looks to be almost a break even

Stocker might be a better player than your 1st pick next year. Who wins then?

Can't believe there wasn't a better deal out there if we were willing to give up our first round pick next year.

This kid better be a gun or a lot of fans will want SOS head over the deal.

Stocker is a jet last few rounds in under 18 completely dominated and has elite kick both feet.

I think we are going to trade 2019 pick for a ready made regardless if it was pick 4 or pick 8.

How do you rate Stocker?

Someone that knows Stocker better than me really rates him. They even mentioned that he is potentially in the same ball park as Bailey Smith, so it is not the worst selection.
Dual sided midfielder, one touch, great agility.

Loving the additions to our midfield and next years pool does not seem to currently have those stand out 5 or 6 players.

This trade massively depends on where both teams finish.

Carlton finish 17th and Adelaide higher than 5th, I don't love the trade.
Obviously the higher Carlton finish and the lower Adelaide finish it massively changes the trade.

It does make me happy about next year 100% wanting us to win all games instead of having that sick happiness of losing games to gain a better draft prospect.

The slight difference is that it’s not an unknown at pick 19. It’s Liam Stocker. In our eyes at least we probably had him around pick 10. So that’s what it felt like to us from our perspective at least.

Good summary. I think we both are unknown next year with bad injury years.

But from our list build perspective fast tracking another mid now helps. Before our older players get too old. We still have a issue with our middle age bracket

If we were willing to trade it why not trade it during the trade period would seem to be the question.

It's not the fact we traded it, it's what we got in return.

Might turn out to be a genius move, but the optics now aren't anything special.
