At the end of the season if you had said to me that we would get McGovern Setterfield Newman and 2 of the best mids in the draft plus Russell I would have taken it and run.

We have been a bottom club so long exactly because we did these kind of days wrong for so long. 3 years of doing it right will see us climb the ladder. Time to be optimistic. The bad days are behind us.

Yeah but the list is filling out nicely. Don't need lots of assets with a full list. We don't need to make another 40-50 changes in the coming years. Probably something long 10-15 over the next 3 years.

Given we have added Stocker and Walsh, think we will add some leg speed with later picks

We can always trade up if the Adelaide Pick is too high anyway, which I’d say is unlikely - 5th to 8th is my guess, so around 10-14.

Probably also figured we’re still building our core and bringing in another player 12-months early was a smart investment.

Also just signals our intention to be far more competitive next year.

That's fine. When we drafted Boekhorst the same kind of people were pumping up tyres and saying we got a good one, the others said let's wait and see.

I actually think we dumped Boakhurst just as he was starting to play good footy, still think it was a mistake to delist him when we did. Was starting to gather some good numbers in his last year.

Depth still is our biggest issue going forward. So we can still use plenty of draft assets to add to the list.

The only way we get draft asset rich is by having too much depth and clubs giving us decent picks for our depth players who can't get games.

That's where we need to be in 3-5 years time.

Stocker actually has good burst speed as well as his other talents.

My guess is that SOS looked at our list and found that we needed a player just like Stocker moving forward; SOS then looked at next year's draftees and decided it was worth the punt now and made the trade

The fact he's not in the AFL any more and no other clubs picked him up suggests we made the right call.
