Can't believe there wasn't a better deal out there if we were willing to give up our first round pick next year.

This kid better be a gun or a lot of fans will want SOS head over the deal.
This kid is a gun and as tough as a cats head, great job SOS you’ve done it again you legend you, now we get everything right and finish ahead of Adelaide next year. Haha

Fine with them wanting to back themselves in next year, but you'd expect a bigger return than #19 and another mid-first.

Adelaide are on the verge of imploding.

A source I know very close to one of their senior players said that much of the group don't like Don Pyke. Still very much some internal issues there, hope they manifest...

Hasn't played an AFL game yet. Will need to show quite a bit next year.

This time next year could be very interesting.

I don’t know enough about him but I trust sos and the team. Seeing how happy they were, it looks like they really rated him.

Considering he was injured during the champs maybe his talent was somewhat hidden.

I’m thinking they rated him top 10

I think your right, the team almost cracked open the beers after getting Stocker. I'm stoked!!

I actually love the trade.

Likely result is:
Lose: pick 4
Gain: pick 9 and pick 19

At the end of the day too, we identified Stocker as our guy and the guy worth moving up for.

I also think it gives a huge indication that our first rounder will be traded next year, as it should for a mature ready made player.

It's a great move, I'm thinking that sos was or is going to trade that pick anyway along with 2020 first rounder for a gun, Love the move

I'm still confused but what it tells me, is that we're focused.

This selection won't keep us out from our 2019 needs. Bold. Really bold.

Can't get my head around it just yet, but i shouldn't have to. Someone else has already done that for us.

Could be the most infamous trade in recent memory if (and yes, it's an 'if') we finish last, and there proves to be a clear stand-out number one pick in 2019. Conversely, if we surprise and are competitive, and the Crows battle a bit... then this repays nicely. Then there's how Stocker himself fares... so many variables!

Could be genius-level stuff, could backfire, we won't know for years, most likely... but so, so ballsy. Wowsers!

Was not expecting that at all. Not sure I like giving up our first pick next year, but we've effectively got 2 first rounders back. Wait and see.

Stocker + ? v ?

No doubt it will be tracked for years to come.

If Carlton finish bottom 3, and Adelaide have a good year, we could be massively kicking ourselves.

We didn't trade for pick #19, we traded for Stocker. Big difference

It is highly important, we knew exactly who we would get with the pick. You would have to think that we rated Stocker potentially in the top 10 players of the draft to make that trade. (Top ten players not locked up by the FS/Academy players)

The more I think about this, the less I like it. Does anyone have some literature from this year about Stocker?
