What do you mean? When there was nobody else, guys like O'Shea and Shaw played. That's what I'm referring to. At one point last season we had 3-4 players in the NBs, injuries were that bad.
3-4 players is a bit of a stretch, but the numbers did hit at as low as 8-9 for a game or two.
I mentioned this several months ago, but the whole 'protecting the kids stuff' didn't come about, when Schumacher was taking on the midfield duties whilst Shaw and Mullett were playing wide trying to get cheap possessions. Who exactly was protecting who here?
That drafting didn't work as if it had, you'd think at least one of them along with O'Shea would have remained on the list.
It's OK to acknowledge it being a fail and not just an E fail. This was a F fail.
Anyway, at least these two guys have possible roles assigned and if they don't.....it will be an F again.
Let's see how it pans out. It's not as overtly bad as last year, but it's a little dodgy from this distance.
