Yes, same for Rowell, Anderson, Green etc. Barrass is throwing up the players we most likely think will be available that we still want.

I like it. Perfect fit for our team with O'brien on the other wing.

Will push into the centre square at times but may not need him there all that much with Stocker, Dow, Setterfield, Cripps and Walsh.

Would be nice to see if we can get back into the late first round and take Cooper Stephens.

The Stephens Stephens double would round off our midfield nicely.

Yeah can't say I've done a lot of research this year, but have looked at our potentials.
I 'd say on the little amount I've seen/read, I think Stephens is the best fit/opportunity out of the 3 Barass70 mentioned (Stephens,Young and Seron).
TBH - Only Lachie Ash and Stephens leap out at me for potential players that cover our needs (though Ash is Highly Unlikely to make 9 and Serong is a clearance mid).

A severe case of wishfull thinking I'm afraid. I'm just praying for a huge slide. Though I would be nearly as happy with Dylan Stephens. We desperately need a decent outside mid with footskills. Haven't had one since Heath Scotland.

I just don’t see Freo passing on him twice. Freo also suggested they were ‘sorted for inside mids it’s the outside roles we need filled’. I don’t see how that leads to a Robertson selection (which I was hoping for). I don’t think anyone would call Serong outside unless it was in his forward capacity. And I don’t see them taking Serong as a forward AND Henry.

So I think they are almost locked in on Stephens and Young from all that perspective.

I’d be happy with Serong. I’m always a fan of blokes who have a habit of finding the footy and staying involved in the game. Being dual sided, averaging 8.5 tackles a game and generally being a highly influential presence is pretty handy too. He’s about the closest we could get to Papley.

Regularly. His hurt factor on spectators sitting in the front row is immense.

The fact that they've got Henry might actually be the reason why they wouldn't pick Stephens.

They may see Henry as a mid/wing that would play the same role as Stephens. They may also see Serong as more of a 80% forward/20% mid at the top level, which would be the point of difference between the picks.

The fact that Sydney, Adelaide and Fremantle are strongly considering Stephens in the top 7 picks suggests he's will entrenched in the top 10 on multiple draft boards. Hopefully we get him, cause he looks like he'll be a very good player.

Considering Serong is about to be a top 10 pick and Papley was overlooked alltogether in his draft year... yeah I think it's fair to say he is a better player at the same age.

But can he go through the middle?

I must say I wasn't really a fan until this year. Really has lifted this year and generally does something good when he gets it.

I like speed between the ears for blokes playing in his projected role and he seems to have it in spades. Watched a few games from the champs and he stood out as a smart operator with some grunt/mongrel. No metric for these characteristics.
