It doesn't guarantee us of getting Young if GWS select him at #4....however, it's been mentioned that list managers have a fairly good idea on who is taking who early on in the draft. Cows will still get their man in McAsey at #9, so anything else would just be a bonus for them.

It's an interesting one, given we'd already given up our future 2nd and 3rd round picks for Jack Martin, so they're likely up for offer.

My guess is that we're offering up pick 9 and possibly a trade of 2nd and 3rd round picks to them, they're probably countering that with a trade of 2nd and 4th.

Either way, it could be a good outcome for us.....and to be honest, a great outcome for the Cows by turning pick #4 into potentially pick #9 and getting a future 1st (GWS) and 2nd (Blues)....and still getting their player anyway.

GC (Dew) are apparently keen on Kemp.
They may even be thinking a chance he slides to 15.
But if he's gone (eg Geelong at 14) we may be a chance to trade back for 15
You'd think Gold Coast would want a little more certainty than that. If it looks like going that way, then we get on the phone with Geelong.
How much credence do you give for current impact? I feel that this is one thing you (and many others) tend to undervalue, particularly given the underrating of Walsh in his draft season.
I was the harshest critic on here, and Rowell isn't in the same postcode as Walsh. Walsh's sprinting pace ceiling and kicking are still a slight concern, but my biggest issue with him was where he fit into our midfield mix.

With Murphy on the outside a bit more, that's helped a lot in the short-to-medium term.
If it's 9 and a future 2nd for 6 sign me up. Anything more and I'm skeptical.

But Young is IMO *the* perfect Simmo replacement. Will instantly be a top 5 kick at the club, is great defensively, and even has some potential as a midfielder (although if it doesn't pan out that way, it's not the end of the world with our current list).
9 and 43 is fair; maybe a future fourth.
If we draft Young, I'd rather us groom him into a balanced/outside mid.

He's athletic and has a penetrating kick.

Imagine the delivery to Charlie and Harry from that left foot.

Believe he played some games in the midfield at the end of the season and had three consecutive games with 25+ disposals.
I think you're overestimating his athleticism, but he certainly is an elite kick by any standard.

Getting him forward of centre is the trick, and I'm not as keen on him as I would be Ash to do that (despite his total lack of midfield ability), and it seems GWS agree given their structure.

Don't get me wrong, he's worth pick 6, I just struggle to see his position with us unless we jettison one of Plowman and Marchbank, then successfully move Williamson to the midfield.
How do you rate Young arrow?
He just posted rankings, had him top 5.

Fair call. He did test pretty well at the combine though.
