In actuality he wanted Stephens and was prepared to trade with Adelaide to get him but was gone. Even a semi rational person would see who we end up with before pronouncing judgement.

It hasn't panned out to our ideal cant-believe-they-slid-to-us dream scenarios, sure. But butchered? That's silly. How could you possibly know? Given the quickfire way we bid on two players and then went to a trade immediately, we obviously had planned exactly for this happening. Hard to say that's butchering it unless you're suggesting we were making it up on the fly.
