As I said somewhere earlier, I don't wish that sort of thing upon anyone but Angwin is really testing me big time.

Everytime I see him play a good game for Carlton my rage will go through the roof.

Doubt we'll see him at Footy Park as that would require him to actually leave Melbourne  and Mummy and Daddy :( (unfortunately there is no "crying face") for nearly 48 HOURS!!!

The only positive thing I have to say about this is at least he has gone to Carlton where he can make a truly crap team marginally less crap!

Would you say its between Angwin and French for a spot in Carlton's 22 this week?

Barney has a virus and is probably an outside chance to play. We'll see, though.

And if Angwin plays in round 19 against us, why dont all you mob come along in your Crows colours and give him an absolute sledging. Common sense, people.

I had a dream last night.

Carlton were 4 pts up over Melbourne with 0:04 on the clock. Angwin had the footy in the Melbourne goalsquare and fired out a quick handball .....

.... straight to David Neitz who kicked the winning goal.

Then I dreamed that at the end of the season Angwin was traded to the Bulldogs for Robert Murphy, who went on to win the 2004 Brownlow as a Blue.

That doesn't make me bitter does it? ;)

Could we be so small as to only go to a game to abuse one player!!

God yes!!

See you there boys and girls

We will hand the Power a decent crowd again. Third time for the year!!!!!:D

We are very happy about the elevation of LA for his first senior game. Seems to have addressed the issues that caused him a lot of trouble at Adelaide. For those who want to 'spew' some more I have incuded a link to TBV thread relating to Angwin. After reading it you might think we are a little delusional, but hey it has been a long year. Angwin was not promoted off the Rookie list until now because of injury O.P and Vertabre has played very well in VFL.
Oh he is as about as fond of you guys as you are of him( smile)

Hard to injure your vertebrae when you don't have a spine! ;)

Seriously though Mark, good luck to the Blues, you've probably picked up a superstar there. Hopefully what goes around comes around and we might have similar luck some time.

You might just let some of The Blue Viewers know that the Crows knew perfectly well what they lost and they tried to work with the lad but he proved to be a complete let down, devoid of any honour or commitment to the team that gave him his first chance at AFL. Describing him as "a Crow discard who will show them what a superstar they missed out on" is a long way from the truth. We already know and that's what ****s us all the most.

Best of luck (you'll need it) ;)

Well said napsyd. Everything that you said is spot on especially the very 1st sentence.:)

Wouldnt surprise me if he tripped over the gutter on the way onto the ground and landed head first into the turf, breaking his nose in the process and missing the next couple of weeks.

Hahahahahaha I could see him doing that.

Anyone know if it's on tv?! ;)

We don't get Carlton-Melbourne until 6.30pm on fox. But I might just watch it to take a look at Angwin, as I've never seen the guy play before.

Interesting how you guys have made him into a hero before he's even stepped on the park!

No one at Carlton has made Angwin into a hero, we've watched him train and watched him play for our affliate VFL team the Northern Bullants and are very excited by his performances so far. Maybe some kids find it too difficult to leave home and live interstate. Laurie's an enigma and under special skills on Denis Pagan's Resume the words 'enigma training' hold pride and place. Sounds like you guys who are aware of LA's football ability are dirty and fear that LA maybe the Adelaide Crows equivalent of Andrew McCleod at Fremantle. ie. the one that got away. If LA is half the player McCleod is you guys have missed out big time. So let's just wait and see how the kid stands up.

PS. Mr. Angwin was at Carlton training to watch his son today, and if you Crows supporters want to keep making barbs about Angwin's Dad, you go ahead because I can tell you flat out that if you met him in real life you wouldn't have the courage to open your mouths, let alone look in his direction.

And for good measure here's something from an article on the AFL website about Angwin, Pagan and Carlton.

The Blues have 20-year old Laurence Angwin for his first game this weekend.
Angwin was formerly at the Adelaide Crows but returned home last year. After recovering from a shoulder injury, he suffered osteitis pubis earlier this year.
On the 200cm youngster, Pagan said: “Laurie’s got his opportunity this week. We think he’s a very talented footballer. We hope he plays well. We can’t afford to let any elite talent slip out the door.”
Pagan didn’t want to comment on Nigel Smart’s observation that Angwin, his former Crows’ team-mate was a ‘loose cannon’.
“I don’t know what Adelaide really said about him. It’s a pretty complex issue and we should judge when we’ve got all the information.”
“Do you know those people? Have they got any skeletons in their closet?”
“We’ll do the very best we can to work with and to manage and motivate Laurie Angwin.”

Maybe Denis was refering to the skeletons down at the Ramsgate?

I could tell him. He might flog me. I might flog him.

Doesn't change the fact his son is a waste of good carbon.
