I am a lifelong carlton supporter and will never even dare think about changing clubs, but Carltons recent history is really starting to effect the way i look at my once beloved club. The string of defeats is really starting to dampen my view of our great game and club. i would just like to know how other supporters of our mighty club are getting through this heartache of an era.

It's part of supporting a club mate. Good times and bad..... like a marriage. You get through it cos there's no choice. We'll be back. What are your choices? Follow the Saints??? No thanks.

You've gotta back Denis and the other guys in charge. They'll do the right thing buy us and in no time we'll be back where we belong... looking down at the smug mongrels that are bagging us now.

GO BLUES!!!!

I feel better now. I think I needed that

Whilst I will continue my membership into next season and beyond, I too am starting to lose interest in the AFL itself. I actually took very little interest in this year's finals series mainly due to the large number of non-Victorian teams participating (AFL franchise clubs). The AFL just doesn't seem right when Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon are languishing at the bottom of the ladder.

Agree with Sticks 4 & ODN, we have been spoilt with success and I think to go through this sure makes you appreciate the success we've had.

However, if you want some instant happiness, i suggest you go and find your tape of the '99 Preliminary Final and sit back.

im starting to get pretty annoyed to but i guess you got to just stick with the bad times , because it will be even sweeter when the good times come in.. and you cant expect to be good for 50 years you got to have a bad time .. all clubs have them and i think carlton are going be getting over it pretty soon - i hope ..
Go Blues !

I'm too young to remember any proper success we've had so I've never had that proud feeling associated with supporting Carlton. We just have to remember that with our picks we're bound to get better and get back up to where our great club belongs. Just think that every match we see, the team is steadily improving.

I agree. Next I am going to affix some nipple clamps, tether myself to a trapeze made from barbed wire and shout insults at Collingwood supporters as they whip me with cat-o-nine-tails.
good stuff.

Just as ODN said we are spoilt by the success of our once great club..if you can't suffer a few lean years without looking elsewhere then you are not a true blues fan .
I have 7 grand final dvds featuring the Blues ,these along with many many videos of great victories (including the 99 prelim) are very handy for putting our lean patch into perspective :)
