Just going back over Carlton's drafting over the last few years since you've had all draft penalties removed, I believe that your recruiting in the 2nd, 3rd and later rounds in drafts has been abysmal.
Yes, you have picked up quality players in round 1, but that is almost impossible not to do seeing you have had picks 1 and 2 constantly.
However, looking at who else you've drafted, the cupboard is pretty bare.
Bower does not have enough mobility to make it, Kennedy is severely overrated (yes, he is a 1st rounder), Edwards has shown nothing, Hartlett will not make it at this level and many recruiters raised eyebrows when Grigg was taken so highly.
Interesting times ahead for the blues it seems, with your only decent youngsters being Gibbs, Murphy and Walker (question marks are still there over Walker as well)

are you even listening to yourself?

Guys, if you want to have any credibility and if you disagree, please point out which parts of what i said you disagree with and why, instead of just attacking the poster.

how about the part where you said Bower hasn't got the mobility, Kennedy is over-rated and Hartlett wont make it

also, we picked Simpson and Fisher in later rounds

They have progressed past young players now, and I said the drafts after your penalties expired.
Bower has no mobility, if you have seen him play, you will agree with this.
Kennedy's performances last year were poor and he did not really show any promise at all.
And in my opinion, Hartlett won't make it.

cleary some1 who has doesnt name their club has no credibility. What a joke. Name a club that regularly gets good kids with late picks?

Bower has no mobility? OK....I'm tipping you have never seen him play. Ever.

Kennedy was injury plagued throughout the whole season. He exceeded expectations in his first year, and is a great prospect.

You're opinion isn't really valued around here.

Run along, troll boy.

Not late picks, 2nd and 3rd rounders. You can't build a club just from 1st rounders.

If what I am saying about your recruiting is soooo wrong, why have you been finishing towards the bottom of the ladder since 2002?

Name your club so we can analyse your draft picks.

Or are you too scared, pansy?
You can analyse my clubs picks and could come to similar conclusions in past years, but the issue at hand here is Carlton's recruiting. Or are you to scared to face up to reality and analyse your draft performance.

Quailty post that, NOT!!! Bower has the mobility to play on elusive forward, (round 22 against Micky O) and will probably spend time on the wing. Kennedy was the All Australian Centre Half Forward at under 18 level and regularly dominated games at VFL level. Also, when he came into the seniors showed plenty of potential and with a FULL preseason under his belt he will become a force. Hartlett has been injured for 2 years and will play at full back during the NAB Cup. From all account edwards is coming along just fine.

So troll would u like more evidence or are going to continue hiding who you go for? Come out of the darkness troll and when you do, bring something logical to say!

What planet are you on Bushboy. Kennedy is a gun. You are already posting on other threads that Reid, Dawes and that other guy you got are better than players who have actually played the game. Take off your pro pie anti blues patch and really have a close look at the Blues list.
I am a bombers man and i would swap lists with Carlton in a flash.
Waite, Fisher, Simpson, Murphy, Walker, Gibbs, Thornton, Fevola, Whitnall, Stevens and Kennedy are all guns. And most are pretty young. The two irish lads will become stars. Better athletes i am yet to see. Hartlett and Bower have just as much chance of making it as any Pie youngsters. Plus guys like Caruzzo, Betts, Blackwell and co have shown heaps of potential.
If you read Weavers draft, his descriptions on the Carlton recruits after Gibbs look amazing. Hampson was a ripping choice and while some had Austin and Grigg going later, many had them going earlier.

Blues list (youth, potential, stars) - 9/10
Pies list (as above) - 6/10

You're scared to admit which club you support. What a fan!

I'm not afraid to discuss Carlton's picks-ask me anything you want and I will answer. But let it be known that you have bo credibility whatsoever, and from what you have written in this thread already, it is clear that you are incredibly clueless.

Blind optimism with Bower I think. Check his mobility tests from the draft camp. They are rather poor.

Okay, what are your opinions on Ewards and Bower.
And if it's such a big deal, I go for Collingwood, but that is irrelevant in this discussion.
We stuffed up in 01, 02 and 03 like you, and only have started to improve in the last 3 years.

Bower-contrary to what you think, is very mobile. Very good skills, and has natural attacking flair. Defensive game is building up, as is his body. Showed immense promise not only in the reserves, but also in his 2 games for the Blues in rounds 21 and 22. Can now play not only in defense, but also on the wing to great effect.

Edwards-Lightning quick tall, capable of playing forward, back and midfield. Is filling out, and showed promise most of the season in the reserves. Was on the cusp of selection for the Blues by the end of the season, a great effort considering he was taken at pick 36 as one of the youngest in the draft, and was very slight.

IIRC you drafted Iaccobucci, Hall and Fanning post 2003. Hardly an improvement.

Who cares about draft camp 2 years ago!! Watch him play. How many Collingwood players in the third game were able to play successfully against Micky O. If your judging you opinion on one game late in the season against Collingwood, your showing how little you know about the game. It was Bower's first game and Kennedy had a poor day. I suppose you'll tell us that Thomas is better than Murphy next! You blind hope that Carlton will continue to suck is cracking me up. Even opposition fans reckon your a tool.
