Number 1- We beat Sydney, O'loughlin had no impact, as Clement kept him quiet.Who cares about draft camp 2 years ago!! Watch him play. How many Collingwood players in the third game were able to play successfully against Micky O. If your judging you opinion on one game late in the season against Collingwood, your showing how little you know about the game. It was Bower's first game and Kennedy had a poor day. I suppose you'll tell us that Thomas is better than Murphy next! You blind hope that Carlton will continue to suck is cracking me up. Even opposition fans reckon your a tool.
No, Hall taken 03 draft, not sure about Fanning but he was a rookie, not a draft pick. Iacobucci was a speculative 4th rounder, not a 2nd or 3rd rounder, where Carlton has had problems of late. Get your facts right first.Bower-contrary to what you think, is very mobile. Very good skills, and has natural attacking flair. Defensive game is building up, as is his body. Showed immense promise not only in the reserves, but also in his 2 games for the Blues in rounds 21 and 22. Can now play not only in defense, but also on the wing to great effect.
Edwards-Lightning quick tall, capable of playing forward, back and midfield. Is filling out, and showed promise most of the season in the reserves. Was on the cusp of selection for the Blues by the end of the season, a great effort considering he was taken at pick 36 as one of the youngest in the draft, and was very slight.
IIRC you drafted Iaccobucci, Hall and Fanning post 2003. Hardly an improvement.![]()

And mobility can be tested, and the tests do not lie, he has poor mobility.
And no, I think murphy is a more solid player than thomas, so I'm not biased like you.
No, someone asked who in our team could keep O'Loughlin quiet, and I answered the question. Now who looks like a fool...So now you are comparing Clement to Bower? Moron.
You're not biased? LOL, ever considered comedy?

You are biased when you say ignore draft camp results about mobility, and then say he is mobile. That is biasedness.Clement is a champion and has been around for 10 years (not sure exactly but its been a while) so you'd expect him to win that contest. So i take it from you the fact you ignored my question about whether your basing your post on one game, that you are basing it on the second Carlton V Collingwood game in 2006.
How am i biased? You came on here bagging our recruiting with no evidence apart from one game and then agreed that Murphy is better than Thomas. So again, how am i bias?
You are biased when you say ignore draft camp results about mobility, and then say he is mobile. That is biasedness.
And I am not judging on one game, I watched a few VFL games this year, and those players did not impress me.
If they are so talented, how did they struggle to get a game in a team that finished 16th?Biasedness? THAT is stupidity!
Big whoop, a Carlton player didn't impress you in a VFL game. By the sounds of you, you wouldn't know talent if it smacked you in the face.
Lets get one thing straight. Anthony is a lot, lot better than Edwards, and anyone who has seen the two play will agree with that.Paul Bower has shown alot more than Danny STanley and Jake Edwards as a bottom aged player was very close to debut in 06 , so id give him the honours over John Anthony.
So how are our later picks in 05 any worse than yours?
If they are so talented, how did they struggle to get a game in a team that finished 16th?
Lets get one thing straight. Anthony is a lot, lot better than Edwards, and anyone who has seen the two play will agree with that.
And no, Bower has not shown more than Stanley, they have both shown very little.
Anthony was named emergency for a team that has a very stable backline in Clement, Presti, Wakelin, Maxwell and co.How far away from a debut was Anthony?
Bower has shown PLENTY more than Stanley. You are a moron if you disagree. Actually, you're a moron anyway.
Anthony was named emergency for a team that has a very stable backline in Clement, Presti, Wakelin, Maxwell and co.
Your backline, on the other hand, is poor, and you would ackowledge that.
You have written a first and second year player off and dismissed another as less talented than he is who has been in the system less than a year. That is foolish. You obviously do not support Carlton, and I dare say you will have seen very little, if any of the Bullant games featuring Hartlett and Edwards, therefor my conclusion is that you have sweat ******** all of an idea of what you're talking about.Okay, if that's true, point out which parts of my above analysis is wrong.
However, looking at who else you've drafted, the cupboard is pretty bare.
Bower does not have enough mobility to make it, Kennedy is severely overrated (yes, he is a 1st rounder), Edwards has shown nothing, Hartlett will not make it at this level and many recruiters raised eyebrows when Grigg was taken so highly.
Sam Mitchell was drafted around the 30 odd mark for starters. And you say I have no idea?2002 -
Pick - 45 Kade Simpson (First pick in draft)
Pick - 72 Brad Fisher (Third pick in draft)
2003 -
Pick 63 - Jordan Bannister
2004 -
Pick 41 - Luke Blackwell (Third pick in draft)
Pick 73 - Chris Bryan
Pick 77 - Anthony Raso
Ok Bushie. 4 of the above listed players play senior football and Bannister is the only one of those who will be gone at the end of the year. Raso was speculative pick and we took him as he was a projected top 10 pick in 2005 and had glandular fever last year so we havent seen the best of him. Chris Bryan quit the club to go to your mob so you clearly rate him as a footballer.
Going back to Bower, thankfully clubs just dont look at draft camp results when picking players. If they did, many top quality players like Sam Mitchel who came through the rookie draft would never get the opportunity.
