Your top five would be Gibbs, Murphy, Kennedy, Walker and I'm not sure of the next one (it cannot include Waite or Fisher though, they are not kids any more)

Our top five would be Thomas, Pendlebury, T Cloke, Reid and Brown.

Now. I'll admit Gibbs and Murphy are standouts, and could be said to be better than any of that five.
However, after that, all our younger players are better than yours.

If you read my posts, I said our 01, 02 and 03 drafting was poor.
Since then, it has been good.

Hang on, where did Murphy and Gibbs go? We're comparing players who play in similar positions. Walker plays on the backline we as Thomas plays with his hair. Pendlebury couldn't tie up Simpson's boots let alone be mentioned in the same breath as him. Here's one for you Bushie.

Our 5 best are: Simpson, Walker, Murphy, Gibbs and Kennedy.

Yours are Thomas, Pendelbury, Cloke, Reid and Brown.

Let's compare, keeping as much to like types as possible.

Walker>Reid
Murphy>Thomas
Kennedy>Cloke
Simpson>Pendelbury
Gibbs>Brown

So, the results are pretty obvious. The 5 kids you nominated from Collingwood are far inferior to the Carlton 5. Bad luck.

How did Brayden Shaw and Billy Morrison work out for you Bushie. They were your first 2 picks in 03 and then Heath Shaw at pick 3. Thought you couldn't go wrong with first round picks mate????

How can you say that Pendlebury is better than Simpson. Have you watched a game of football in the last 20 years.

Thomas is better than Walker you think. How about you stick Thomas in the backline instead of having running around the half-forward flank getting cheap possesions. With the new recuits this year, Walker can finally be released onto the wing. Then we will see who the better player is.

Our gun midfield for 2007: Murphy, Simpson, Gibbs, Walker, Scotland, Blackwell, and Stevens.

Your midfield: old farts who are have passed their used by date.

Brown is a tall, Gibbs is a midfielder. Right, credibility=0 already.

To say Simpson is better than Pendlebury is absurd. Pendlebury is 19, Simpson is past the kid stage, and Simpson showed absolutely nothing in his first year, compared to Pendlebury, who showed enormous potential. So Pendlebury > Simpson easily.
Yes, I agree Murphy>Thomas, but not by much, Murphy will not develop much more, while Thomas has a lot more upside.
