Has anyone read Caroline Wilsons article in the age today. The last 2 sentences

'' The same could not be said for the blues on field performances. He 'Collins' inherited a wooden spoon and 3 years later nothing much has changed "

Dear Caroline how dare you belittle our club, this club had no draft picks for two years, could not trade was banned from the Pre season draft im sick to death of the media writing and talking crap about our club. Whats worse they know the facts but they still write this S---.

I would like see how Stkilda, Bulldogs and Hawthorn had gone without draft picks when they were on the bottom of the ladder. HAWTHORN are still on the bottom.

You are a little light-headed methinks. Have another look at your quote and you will see that it is simply a statement of the facts - nothing more, nothing less!
The statement doesn't belittle our Club - we were on the bottom three years ago and, indeed, regrettably, nothing much HAS changed. "They know the facts and still wrote this S---" Well, those are the facts and there is no way of getting away from that!
If you want to take a slice out of the media, or Caroline Wilson if that is your particular target, put your brain into gear and find something that really does constitute crappy reporting

Syd, I think you will find that a lot has changed. The ladder position is superficial. The fact is that we have turned over 80% of our list, changed our drafting philosophy and started trying to get quality characters into the place. We are closer to a flag now than we were after 2002, that much is clear. We are approching an up curve where back then we were on a steep descent.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Personally, I think we have a better list than in 2002, and definitely 2003. Unfortunately for us, whilst the team has been playing under Denis Pagan, a whole bunch of new issues has raised its ugly head. Most noticeable is the lack of application and desire amongst the playing group.

Listen to me... Sheesh. The next practice match can't come around quick enough. :(

Our next practice match against West Coast in Alice Springs. I'll tell you what, from what I saw on Saturday, we'd have to improve a heap otherwise we'll get spanked by 30 goals.

Nice try mate.
if you are going to unsult the intelligence of others then be careful that you dont leave yourself open. It would appear that you have done just that......gutted, hari-kari,disembowled (left yourself open).
Are you saying that Caroline is not making any inferences from these comments. If this is your stance then the labotomy worked a treat. If on the otherside of the coin you can accept that inferences are being made beyond the mere statement of facts, and lets face it its Caroline Wilson we are talking about, whos articles are generally passed of as editorial or opinion, then louie22 is totally justified in asking Caroline to but the hell out. She has spread enough lies already. It appears that the only thing you have touched upon with any substance is an intellectual void, its funny how the most echoes come from the loudest shouts in the emptiest of places.....unless your a duck. Are you a duck sydjackson ?

For starters, I don't think there is one sane person in this world who gives a toss about what ever garbage Carolyn Wilson sprouts out of her mouth. Secondly, who cares, stop living in the past. It is time for supporters to open their eyes. Yes, some terrible things have happened during the last few years but we have to get over them. The more we reflect and blame them for our predicament, the worse it is going to get. Instead of looking backwards, we should be looking forwards. That is just my two bob's worth.

Caro would gain a little credibility if she did a warts and all expose' on the Richmond Football Club. I know that would be too close to home for her, so of course Carlton is a much easier target. Is it any wonder The Age's readership is so pitifully low, if she is one of their leading journos?

To be quite frank, even The Australian has a better and more informative sport section than The Age. Whenever any of my mates try to tell me how much more intellectually superior The Age is over The Herald Sun I refute their claims with two words: Carolyn Wilson.

Seriously, could there be a more unqualified opinion sports writer? I think not!

There is an old petrol cap to a 1977 Datsun 120y in a paddock out near Wagga-wagga with more insight into football than Caroline Wilson.

I hate USC too but don't go making rash statements! She might be a clueless, richmond loving slag but she is vastly superior to rohan "love you long time" connelly.

The harsh facts are that our club is in a fair bit of strife. Personally I believe that our list is worst than it was three years ago and that we still have at least 3 more years of rebuilding to suffer through. Add to that our financial woes and its not a pretty picture.

Not if you are looking at the big picture. 3 years ago we still had Manton, Hickmott, McKay and Ratten but they were on their last legs. The youth we had coming through were Campbell, Beasy, Livingston, Sporn, Wiggins. Now we have Murphy, Walker, Russell, Hartlett, Setanta, Bower, Kennedy, Bentick. We took Simpson and Fisher 3 years ago and now they are coming on strong. Waite didn't play until 2003 and now he is coming on strong. Lance was in worse form that he is now in 2003. Fevola despite his problems is better now than he was 3 years ago.

Players that didn't want to play have gone, Allan, Murphy, McKernan. All have retired.

3 years ago, we were old, injured and tired with very few prospects coming through. Now we are young and looking to the future. The only way you can say we are in a worse position than 3 years ago is if you believe our youngsters won't make it.

Couldn't agree more ODN.
While we had more talent amongst the senior bracket a few years back, we didn't have anyone coming through to replace them, and not because of penalties either. Now we have a few talented youngsters starting to come through to put pressure on the the older players.

While we're still to put it together onfield, there's good reason to be confident that our recruiting will continue to boost the quality of the playing list as well - just look at the smarter drafting in the last couple of years.
