Caro is not really wrong here, but she is selective with her talons. Unless the bee is firmly planted in her bonnet there is nothing else going on in the football world. Her constant dismissal of the Swans as a finals hope since 2003 through to 2005 (when the egg finally splattered) shows just how far her head can get up her arse. Why Teflon Terry has been in her firing line is beyond me.

Caro is probably the best football journo imo. I have no idea why she copes so much critiscism but i have an inkling it may have something to do with gender. People come out with the old "what would she know she has never played football" but the same can be said for half of the journo's who write on the AFL. Patrick Smith is the one who gets my goat! If anyone ever wants to find the meaning for sensationalism all you have to do is read one of his articles.

It strikes me that Ms. Wilson cops more than her fair share of sh*t here. Nobody seems to attract peoples wrath quite as much as her. Why is this? I don't read of people laying into Sheehan, or Patrick Smith in quite the same way. Although Crows fans seem to have a special place in thier hearts for Michaelangelo Rucci.

In the past 2 years alone, she has written 60 ARTICLES on North Melbourne.

The vasy majority have been negative of the club.

She's basically been running her own hate campaign against us. For 10 years, she's been saying that we need to fold, merge or re-locate. That's why we don't like her.

Her bias against certain teams is what annoys me, not the fact that she is a woman.

Plus she makes some ridiculous statements "Andrew MacDougall is a Ruck-man" for instance.

I honestly don't mind her, a lot of what she says is very raw and truthful. (apart from her 'sources')

She has written a lot of negative articles regarding certain teams but take away any bias you have regarding that club and most of the time it's truthful.

I think she hits a raw nerve pretty often with her analysis ntoo. People forget that she is very well connected and most of her stories are spot on. WCE culture issue is a perfect example.

I consult to about 5-6 corporates based in Perth and going out a fair bit during my trips there. The WCE players running amok was common knowledge amongst the clients & friends I know. Many people knew who, many people knew the club protected them and TBH nobody really cared as long as the side was winning. Caro went public with it and was on the money, as she often is.

All of a sudden all these WCE supporters blindly assume some sort of eastern media conspiracy, which is of course absolutley ridiculous. Caro is usually the reporter abused... easier than admitting she was actually right.

Another good example is the St Kilda process of appointing Cornflakes Thomas. She knew the process was a farce, reported as such and was widely abused for it. We then find out this year she was right on the money again, and Thomas basically did appoint himself coach.

My only gripe about her is giving Richmond an easy ride. They have been the worst side in the past 25 years but she won't utter a bad word about the club or conga line of moronic administrations.

What did breaking the story achieve? She dragged the AFL's, West Coast's and a team full of players names through the mud to condemn 1 bloke who has NEVER had a positive test and isn't/wasn't on performance enhancing drugs. She also exposed this person's PERSONAL life to the wider community, including kids which had a devastating effect, of which they would have otherwise never known. Since breaking the ice and it becoming fashionable to criticise West Coast, she has attacked them on every minor issue she could. Yet there are 40 odd players in the AFL who HAVE tested positive to drugs and where are the scoops? Where is the outrage? 1 team has something like 8 players with a positive test! There are numerous other controversial and illegal happenings but her response is minute when compared to her condemning of West Coast

If she was a fair, moral and balanced journo, she wouldn't have reported in this manner and this is exactly why she is a tabloid/gossip journo rather then genuine football commentator or analyst

Gossip papers that are based on unsubstantiated rumours and utter lies sell more than newspapers, she has her obvious talents but is working for the wrong industry. She needs to stick to the rumourmongering trash heap rather than claim to be a journalist who researches stuff and reports factual information. The number of sheer amateur errors she has reported as fact based on my club alone should have her journalistic credentials stripped, let alone being the blatant media propaganda puppet of the AFL.
