should be ashamed of how disgusting she's just treated rendell.
As usual, doesn't listen to the facts, just grovels around, hissing truffle-hunting pig style, looking for a sensationalist angle. I will never watch that show while she is on it. Makes Thomas likable.

Compelling viewing with a very passionate Matty Rendell. This issue isn't finished.
I hope it isn't finished but, going by his "it's probably done me a favour anyway" comment he seems done with footy.

Caro was a disgrace tonight. Rendell being on the show was a great move for truth. I just hope justice follows as well.

For anyone who didn't see it, he made it very clear that he was pleading with Mifsud to do something about the rising attrition rate of Indigenous footballers in the AFL, and he ended his plea with a "before it's too late" HYPOTHETICAL quip. It's that quip which had the comment about one white parent contained within it as an example of "worst case scenario if something isn't done asap". He categorically denied Demetriou's view of his resignation/sacking as well. He's been railroaded!

The whole thing's been atrociously handled and Rendell's the patsy. He deserves much better than that!

For those who watched 360, and I know we don't like him. but Robbo put a better spin on the story and was very well said.

I do not know how Caro still is in the business.

Many of us footy tragics watch and listen to everything footy related. Unfortunately sometimes it includes the AFL's own mouthpiece Harpy Wilson. At least you know with that Gargoyle that there's an agenda behind it's hollow eyes. Talk about heartless tonight..............I was hoping Matty Rendell would leap the desk when he was becoming fired up and yelling at her.

Simple. She plays the heel. It is most likely not by design but that is irrelevant to her success in the industry. Making controversial comments creates discussion. People continue to respond to the rot she spews. That's enough to keep her employed. She is football's equivalent of the bad guy in wrestling. :stern look

Hutchy was lost for words after the interview, even seemed a bit emotional himself. It was fantastic by Matt Rendell, absolutely fantastic. No bullshit, pissfarting around, and wouldn't want to choke up on national telly, and make a fool of himself, for no reason. :thumbsu:

It still reeks of the "AFL brand" being better than the "NRL brand"..... for the corporate dollars!!

In this day of transparency the AFL cant be judge, jury and prosecution ....Vlad lied on, "on the couch" monday night. After watching and hear words from Rendells mouth everyone with half a brain knows he´s not a racist person. It stinks that a decent man who has given back double to the code than what he got out of it (as a player) be treated this way. People like Adrian Anderson are good servants to the afl but they havent got the right to have the final say. Where does Rendell sit for representation? Not the AFLPA nor the coaches association, maybe there should be another voice apart from these two groups.

Was really hoping there was some more underlying reason for his sacking.

The sacking of Rendell absolutely proves the AFL have no actual empathy. For all their so called good deeds they are just means to a financial end because stripping someone of their job is a brutal and disgusting act when done on a whim like this. I mean do they think the world is a better place now that Rendell is gone? ****wits honestly.

I wasn't at the meeting, obviously, and I haven't watched Footy Calcified yet. I'm sure Matt Rendell came across very well - and Caro can be a harpy - but it seems more likely to me that he said the wrong thing and is now doing his best to soften it based on his good intentions, than that Jason Mifsud and two other AFL people in the meeting have deliberately misrepresented him in a conspiracy with AFL HO and The Age.

Good get by that show either way. And she is part of what makes it work, so she'll be staying.

You can just picture man hands' ancestor in the middle ages.

Gives the pentagram a quick sweep in the morning.

Dons the nun's habit conveniently hiding that 666 birthmark.

Spends the day running around the town square pointing witch.

Checks out the share price of Stake in the arvo.

Buys couple of goats from the market for the evening offering.

Rinse and repeat.

I think I understood what he was saying but God he toook so long to make his point. I was surprised that Garry didn't chop him off about 3 minutes into his rambling explanation. For someone who'd lived it and agonised over it he was very unprepared.

It was excruciating and at the same time strangely rivetting.

As for Cowro, she was happy with the conclusion that he was a racist and didn't want to hear anything to the contrary. What a bitch.

How lucky we all are that we don't have her as a next door neighbour.

While I agree Vlad and Co. have been far to heavy handed in this, Rendell basically comes across as a bit of a dumbass IMO.

No doubt his comment was off the cuff, but the fact he would make it given the current climate of political correctness speaks volumes of his stupidity, and perhaps a little of his generation and their lack of understanding and empathy.

Pretty obvious too, that the reason his explanation was so long winded was that no matter how you spin it, it sounds bad. Would he have said it in the presence of an indigenous person? I doubt it.

Anyway pretty rough to canned for it. At least he doesnt appear to be particularly worried about his job. More about his relationship with the indigenous community. Which again begs the question, why say it in the first place.

I'd set my dog onto her if she lived next door, actually he would probably take an instant dislike and go her without any prompting.

If that didn't work, would feed her to the crocs.

I think Jason Mifsud could help dispel your doubts
Is he the bloke who dobbed him in?

If so then Rendell is even dumber than I originally thought.

TBH I only have a passing interest in the whole thing. The media have beat things like this to a point that I rarely pay much attention anymore.

wilson should have been kicked out of the industry when she went ahead with an article releasing news that ramanauskas had cancer. adam pleaded with her to hold off until he had chance to tell his family and friends but she went ahead anyway.

and the bitch with no morals gets on her moral highhorse when it suits her...

demetriou also a proven liar as well on the rendell issue

Actually, it would be nice if Mifsud did clear up some doubts. Various people are painting him as a hero in this ridiculous, cynical beat-up, but he's been conspicuously silent since the sh!t hit the fan on Friday. He's hung a 'mate' out to dry. Poor effort.

That's patently obvious from your comments.

One of the annoying things about BF is that people feel they have to pass judgement on matters about which they have insufficient understanding.

And therein lies the key issue of this story. Demetriou originally said that the person involved should start looking for a new job. You'd think he wouldn't deny that he said this, because the audio has been played more than once, but his version on the couch was contradictory to that first quote - he was obviously hoping the masses hadn't heard it - and clearly contradictory to Rendell's version, which is the only one that makes sense.

And then we have the despicable Caro, a hypocrite of the highest order who will jump at any and every chance to take the moral high ground, but still pushes the AFL's agenda because she is in their pocket. Independent journalist? She is neither of those two words.

Came across as the ultimate AFL stooge last night, wasn't a great look.
And then she finishes the show with a crack at Clarkson for daring to question her beloved Richmond. Funny when you consider the stuff she spews about other clubs.
