After being questioned for an intense 5 or so hours, it isn't surprising she looked so deflated.

Ever since last Friday when the the documents were released from both ASADA and EFC, it seems as if journos are taking extreme caution and are treading carefully. Nobody wants to come out and call out the AFL.

We can't be surprised. The AFL will pull media accreditation of anyone who criticises it too harshly.

The last 2 days have confirmed the huge lies AD and GM have spewed out through this investigation. Yet nobody is critical of them in the media.

Robbo sick and unable to work at one of the most critical junctures of this whole saga, something smells. And the stench is coming from AFL HQ.
I hope the truth comes out there too. If shackles have been applied we need to know. Someone needs to be brave.

The media are a joke saying Hird has taken no responsibility. Despite not being proven of any wrong doing he's copped a 12 month suspension, had his reputation severely tarnished, had his family abused, privacy invaded yet he has not for one second given up on EFC and the players. He took the 12 months suspension as he was told it would end it with no penalties possible for players.

If anything Hird has defended EFC more than anyone. He has been completely honest throughout and stuck to his original stance all the way through. There is no evidence supporting he has lied yet there is evidence left, right and centre that all of David Evans, Andrew Demetriou, Mike Fitzpatrick, Gill McLachlan, Aurora Andreuska, Brett Clothier etc have along with breaking federal laws

Who is driving the "Hirdy can't come back" commentary tonight?
If it is the fill in co host on 360 Dunstall then I'm glad I missed it tonight.
As with other posters it does seem odd the Robbo is completely out of action sick at this time. Conspiracy theorists would say some journos have been gagged/told to take it easy on the opinion articles during the trial or risk losing their accreditation/media fringe benefits aka parking passes etc?

Does anyone really think tomorrow's proceedings can be pushed along and finished by 5?

Can anyone confirm for me that Andruska said, Asada had been looking at several clubs but agreed to only focus on essendon when AFL offered full support/resources? It's very important that we distinguish this as being either a fact or opinion (even if the latter may indeed be valid).

If we prove either of those points, or both, then it is case of relief:
  • Can the Judge order the SCN's invalid?
  • Can ASADA simply re-issue the SCN's?
  • What evidence could be deemed inadmissable by injunction?
  • Can the Judge place restrictions of further investigation on a statutory body?
  • Were the nature of the breaches (unlawful/improper acts) enough to warrant such action?
  • What consequences has the unlawful/improper conduct got?
  • What consequences for EFC/Hird and Players?
  • What consequences for ASADA if finding made against them?
I would hope relief will be granted ruling that show cause notices are invalid, and an injunction placed on the player interviews. These are tainted and conducted under false pretense and in bad faith.

If this happens SC notices could not simply be re-issued as ASADA asserted yesterday.

Obviously the AFL is not going use its coersive powers again and my guess is that ASADA would not re-interview players, at least not until another ASADA internal review and re-org takes place.

No - she said they had been providing the AFL information similar to the EFC case for years setting a precedent...
But that has been the case for years - Players/clubs are target tested all the time whether its at the behest of the sporting body or ASADAv- And you expect that type of relationship - Remember Dane Swan complaining that ASADA testers followed him to Utah. There is nothing to read here though I question whether the AFL's integrity unit has too much power !

If you're a journalist, I'd guess the safe option is to wait for the ruling before calling for Gillon's head. Hopefully they start digging though. Some more AFL-ASADA email chains might begin to surface as the rats leave the sinking ship.

From Robbo's twitter ....

Yep, u got it one... @JamesMc81974862: have you been 'told' to be sick by @AFL or lose your accreditation, or are you actually sick?”

Robbo just ignores the comment after that. It's a bit conspiracy theory-ish, but after all the crap that has now (officially) come to light from the court case, combined with relative quiet from the Fairfax crew, it's hard not to wonder whether this is a genuine directive from AFL house to not give this court case any more air. Not saying that IS what is happening here, but an ongoing silence from both the pro-ASADA/AFL/ anti-Hird and pro-Hird/ anti-ASADA/AFL for this whole case will only add weight to the theory

I didn't. Not one bit. I could almost see her muttering "I don't recall" under her breath over and over with that glazed look on her face.

He would never allow something as silly as team supported to affect his professionalism which is second to none. Maybe I was just expecting a bit too much. They really didn't seem to want to dwell on it too much at all. They did have things like Chris Judd going on for another season to bat off about I suppose.
If you listen to him on the A.B.C. he has the subtle art of gloating about Geelong down pat. What I meant was he doesn't support Essendon. He is generally good but is at a loss to understand how Essendon and Hird can not be holding hands in this but be united in the fact that each is Essendon.

He is thinking of board taking umbrage to Hird's criticism of the way club acted. He is not understanding that Hird and Essendon are united by the spirit of the club when it runs out on the ground.

Neil Young, QC: Good Lord, what is happening up here?
Witness: Aurora Andruska?
NYQC:: Aurora Andruska? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within this courtroom?
Witness: Yes.
NYQC: May I question it?
Witness: I can't recall.

Yeah, not my best work.

Yes - There is a narrative amongst some in the media that Hird won't return - Though listened to Sports Today, Russell and Healy were insistent that Hird will return, Warner said as long as there are no infraction notices and Caro said No.

Caro was fairly restrained and let Warner do most of the talking, but she made me laugh when she stated that ' It's a good idea that AFL business should be kept out of the courts' but she has been railing for months that Essendon/Hird should have gone to court. It's best if Caro doesn't open her mouth.
