I find it hard to believe Dr Reid, Bomber Thompson and James Hird all stood around and did nothing while Dank injected them with dangerous and/or banned substances.

If the players were given TB4 then it was without their consent or knowledge.. or the knowledge of anyone else at the club imho.

I reckon the whole club was tricked including Hird got told it's all good by Dank but really is wasn't.

Seems like it.. I think even ASADA are acknowledging that there appears to be a lot of lies told. But I am still prepared to wait for the evidence to come out really. Right now no one has been found guilty of anything.. so we'll see.

The HUN article now mentioning that AFL might refuse to issue IN.. and ASADA then forced to take it to CAS... did I miss something or is that an option?

That would be really interesting.. if AFL refused to prosecute and it all ended up at CAS.. I actually think that would benefit the players.. CAS is very independent and will want the proof to be bullet proof..
As stated numerous time the AFL is the key driver - Of course the AFL will want to be close to 100% convinced that ASADA's case is weak, not issue IN"s and then allow it to go to the CAS - Then if by chance CAS rules against the players expect 12 month bans.

Interesting times ahead.

I was listening to Mick Warner over on Adelaide radio today. Only caught the last minute but they were talking as if it is just a given that bans will come and come quickly. The comment was made that a James Hird's successful appeal might be the only thing that saves our players.

They covered everything from AFL contingency plans, Jobe's Brownlow, and where EFC will scavenge players from when (not if) the bans get handed out. Was a bit unsettling to hear.

If that's the case then Asada should be going after Dank and nailing him to the wall not the players, the AFL has already punished the club for being naive.

AFL will be working their butts off to make sure players don't miss any games.

The AFLPA doesn't seem to think the players have done anything wrong.. so it appears the AFL are prepared to 'back' the players if they want to fight.

You then do wonder whether there will suddenly be a deal for backdated 3 month bans that would see the players return as per usual in mid December.. in order to just finish this whole saga off.

Not sure.. rock and a hard place for mine.. seems like they didn't do anything wrong.. BUT Dank may have deceived everyone.. risking a two year ban by trusting in Dank must be hard to do.

Not sure where all the hysteria is coming from? The evidence is "compelling and comprehensive" - according to the guy presenting it! **** em. Wait til the lawyers get a look at it and make their call before talking about deals and ramifications.
OJ Simpson got away with murder surely the lawyers will eat the scn's for breakfast.

Essendon 34 to see evidence from ASADA, show-cause notice to be reissued

Should AFL general counsel Andrew Dillon conclude the evidence stacked up, he would issue doping charges and set the date for an AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal, to be chaired by David Grace, QC.

Err, what?!
Did I miss discussion on this earlier?

This reminds me too much of Lukin. Someone working for us doing the AFL's dirty work

I wouldn't be surprised the grubs try and get Grace to influence the players into taking a small ban, which would be enough for them to boot Hird out

It's the usual wank. Very strategic work from ASADA, waiting until right after the trade period to re-commence their show cause notices so media pressure would remain on the players, and wouldn't be distracted with "Crows want Zac Dawson" stories.
We'll see how we go. I doubt anything's changed.
Does anyone really want Zac Dawson?

Deals would be a disaster for the reputation of the players and club. It won't just go away but stay forever.

Really hope they fight at the tribunal.
I agree about fighting, although no matter what happens from here this will never go away for us supporters of this generation. The reputation of our club has been soiled by the media conditioning the public to follow their agenda. It is entrenched deep in a lot of peoples minds now that we were cheats and nothing will change.

Player representatives told Fairfax Media on Friday night that they had not in the preliminary examination unearthed any smoking gun in the show-cause letters, which averaged 350 pages per player and were delivered via computer disc to the legal team assembled by the players' union.
...
McDevitt is expected to offer deals to players seeking to further hasten their fates in the coming days, but no player has yet moved to negotiate despite two – Western Bulldog Stewart Crameri and Brent Prismall, now playing in the VFL – seeking independent advice. ASADA has suggested any deal would involve at least a short suspension.

If true then it's likely nothing has really changed from what has already been disclosed publicly. So circumstantial case & unlikely to be able to prove to comfortable satisfaction that TB4 was injected? I suspect so.
