to suit AFL narrative & hand them the scapegoat? remembering we know they pressured ASADA to leave bit's out of the interim report that didn't suit.
The question was somewhat simpler in nature than your response, Rumply.

Just say all and sundry are up to speed on square brackets (I wasn't), part of their report indicates an add on to Robson's evidence.

Just say an investigative journalist asks ASADA what the add on was all about, what would ASADA answer. Creating a preferred narrative isn't going to cut jt with a credible journalist. All I can think is texts like the ANZAC day one. Which would be a leap to far for mine.

On related matters, came across a 29 year old 20 year member today. And he said Hird has to go. They all knew what was going on. It was a passing conversation in a car. He alighted before me getting to tell him he was presuming something illegal transpired.

Tangentially related, but this is a list of a bunch of government agencies that will be abolished or restructured after Corman's latest brainfart:

While the deliberate loss of 200,000 or so jobs (plus the work they did) in a tanking economy is the definition of muppet government, it is interesting to note the agency on the left of the picture that is due for a restructure...

This thread has enough crap brought up to make our blood boil. However, being reminded that most of the last 20 years has had Howard, Rudd and Abbot as PM is enough to slit the wrists. Are Abbot, pisses everyone off AND makes the economy worse. Dickhead.

I was at a gathering yesterday at Ascot Vale. A lot of solicitors mingling. Me, an ex truck driver. Thought the locals might have heard some goss, so asked a few questions. One said he was friends with a couple of players, and the stuff that he was "quoting" from the players about Hird was unbelievable. So armed with the Knowledge that this forum, Bruce Francis, Martin Hardie have given me, I started firing back. Shot him down on just about every point. Then asked him Who he barracked for, "F**king Carlton".
Reasoning is out the window on this. Even when we are found not guilty on this, and Hirdy is rolling in cash from winning all the law suits, we will be always be called drug cheats. So live with it and use it to get up the noses of the unwashed.

I find it amusing how this saga is making EFC stronger as a club which pisses off the foamers :D Imagine if this were Richmond, there would of been manure trucks lined up at Punt road every day and memberships being microwaved by the thousands.
And KB moaning how it all went pear shaped after he was coach.

Just say all and sundry are up to speed on square brackets (I wasn't), part of their report indicates an add on to Robson's evidence.
It usually just indicates an edit for purposes of clarity. It's very common when you have a quote referring to a vague "they" or "he", so you don't need to provide the broader context explaining who exactly is being referred to. Hypothetically, when asked who people reported to, Robson might have answered "Hamilton, James" to indicate Hamilton and Hird, or the question might have been posed as "who other than Hird...". In the interests of clarity and brevity, either answer could be entirely-accurately rendered as "Hamilton [and Hird]" in the report. I really wouldn't read too much into it. Francis may have his moments, but he's undoubtedly a bit of a tin-foiler.

I do not mind Rita. When she starts on us i just tune out as she is a Hawks supporter and it is just rubbish supporter bias crap. Apart from footy she has some views on the world in general that are pretty sound, just dont bother tuning into to her footy views as they are one eyed Hawthorn.
The trick is recognising a moron even when you agree with them. And if it happens a lot, well...

Thanks for the possible explanations. Wouldn't mind knowing the actual though. It goes to the heart of whether or not Hird was a raging dictator or not.

To be honest though the way it was added in was a little bit weird. In most cases when there is an addition it is to clear up an ambiguous statement, and there is no evidence of anything ambiguous in the statement. "Hamilton, James" isn't likely to have happened, otherwise they would have included James in the statement, and than added [Hird] after it. There could be other reasons for it though as you said. The problem with the addition as it stands is that anyone can attach their own reason to why it was added based on their agenda, and all possibilities are valid.

Just one thing on Rita, which is IMO only, but may explain here current positions.

When she started on sen it was to break up the blokie vibe, and provide a different Flavour to the lunch show, and it worked.

Then she got the role at the HUN as a social commentator, and then it all changed.

She became all about the extremes. Harping on about the alp, anti-vaccers, people on the dole, etc. her Twitter feed which was once amazing became a slag fest against anything C10 and anything Fairfax.

She is a glorified blogger, which is why she got the EFC board story so wrong. She had one source (probably Bev at a lunch function), took her at her work, didn't get a secondary source, and ran with it. HUN don't care, they just want content, and she is Andrew bolt in a skirt

Yeah this was basically my summary in our short lived thread about her. Just a dumber and (somehow) shriller version of Miranda Devine.

'credible journalist.' - & there we have one of the problems throughout this.

Your friend may well be right, maybe they all did know. But know what? For a year or so they all went to bed at night knowing they were complicit in an illegal 'supplements' program? & still do?

Maybe it is true that the supply chain was Charters to Alavi to Dank to the players with mastermind Hird silently overseeing, while keeping Reid/Bomber/et al out of the loop & the players none the wiser to what they were actually receiving. Everyone here has contemplated such a scenario & asked 'could that really be true?'. Maybe one day we will find out, but I doubt it.

The biggest crock I have heard in all of this is the players all knew they were taking illegal substances.

IF you were pulling a shifty with great risk attached should you get caught. How many people do you tell about it? Answer: As few as f****ing possible, and preferably none.

Image a football club relying on 30 plus, mostly young players, keeping their mouths shut something illegal was going on there

Tracy Holmes asked the WADA official what would satisfy them from the AFL tribunal. They will be watching, but too early to make a call. They are looking forward to the end of it.

Tracy Holmes asked about timing (in Cronulla case). WADA looked at all of the files, and it seemed obvious that there were delays and that counted against a WADA appeal.

I'm sure they are looking forward to the end of it. The reputation of their cause and representative agency has been put through the wringer, and even if they do get a successful prosecution you can bet that Essendon will dredge up even more evidence of dodgy practices to discredit them further.
