What I find interesting is there was a whiff of deals a few weeks back with Crameri and Prismall and it was all over the news yet some are now suggesting they may have change their tune and nothing anywhere...

ASADA have done what theyre supposed to do, investigate, and take information from player testimonies to determine if a there is a possible case of doping. Now we have to trust that the tribunal members will make the correct decision
Are they also supposed to twist their own witnesses testimonies and try to get them to sign off on it? Offer their witness employment? How about talk to the media about how the players should take a deal?

I can't recall
Crameri and Prismall sought new legal representation in early October.

Sam McLure raised the rumour that a couple of players were inquiring about a deal a few weeks a go.

It's not outside the realms of possibility that a player has seen the writing on the wall and thought that simply telling ASADA that "I believe I may have been injected with TB4" and named other player who also may have been could help get quite a lenient suspension.
I don't disagree that it isn't impossible, but I believe that Sam McClure rumor was shot down iirc. Was that the one where the AFL was dealing, offering 2 week deals (ASADA not involved) but they rejected them?

I could understand if it was earlier in the piece (beginning of the saga) but to rat out your team mates after sticking by with them for 2 years is a dogs act. you would think if they go down they would have agreed to go down together.

Also if we do get through unscathed and manage to win a flag it will be the best ******* flag victory in the history of the game. Forget Hawthorn's one last year our one will be the shit.
One step at a time. But yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you.

my point is a lawyer's opinion on their client's prospects is hardly worth hearing let alone believing
Same could be said about some thing posted by someone who is anonymous on a footy forum on the internet....

Dont want this to be a measuring contest, but currently we have half of this board believing something from one rumor and other citing other rumors to discredit that rumor.

Does this strike anyone else as just a bit absurd?

Suggest we all just chill out, people.

Ultimately, the last definite development of much substance was Hird losing his appeal. And even that didn't really affect the tribunal sittings as such.

Nothing else has changed that we can be absolutely certain of. If things do and any of these current rumours are proven to be true, then we cross that bridge then.

Until then, why assume anything and worry yourself?

i dont think anyone is claiming any of the 'rumours' as absolute fact. However, discussing information that has potentially leaked is reasonable. After all, what is a discussion forum for? For me the latest rumors partly confirm a view I have held for some time, based on the accumulation of all the information we have seen to date. But I'm certainly not saying my view is the only possible outcome. Who the hell knows whats going to happen?

Love our current cadence...

Step 1. Baseless Rumor
Step 2. Overreaction
Step 3. Correction of Rumor
Step 4. Deep talk about how this is just more evidence pointing to the corruption of everything
Step 5. Descend into maddened talk and snide innuendo commentary
Step 6. Someone delcares that they just wish it was all over
Step 7. Meta awareness where someone calls us out on the above
Step 8. Repeat

Thats the part i dont get, how can a rumor confirm a view you hold?

I guess i just dont quite understand where how you could even entertain the rumor tbh. Looks like we might have to agree to disagree on this one.

I love Step 7.5- the bit between 7 and 8 where we just kick back with a drink.

It's been a roller coaster of emotions these past 2 years can only imagine how the players must feel. I'm sick of this ride and went to get off it.

I don't know about you guys, but I make up my own rumours to discredit *both* those rumours.
