Ever get an injection through your primary school?

Have any understanding of what you were given? Or was it more just a "we are giving you this, it is protection against this, get your parent to sign this"
Not a good analogy. Vast difference between primary school and an 18yo.

While I know I probably would have questioned, I also know the vast majority wouldn't through peer pressure etc.

Was more focusing on the comment that the above poster has never had an injection whilst having no idea. Basically I was being a smart arse :)

Apologies for jumping in

For OHS regulations, there are mandatory requirements with regards for operating a log book for all medical treatments. This is even required in an office with the first aid kit if you want a band aid.

Records are one of the main things checked in an OHS audit, and a lack of these plus incident reporting and so on is a serious non conformance
Seems strange it took worksafe 3 years to work this out though

I'm not one of those that has been pushing the "no records" line, and I've actually been pushing the "inadequate records" argument on this forum for years

On the content of the records, it's not a yes/no question. The audit looks at the details and the accuracy of the information, and the risk non compliance can cause

This means a non conformance can be graded based upon its severity and potential to allow harm

At a bar minimum, date and time of treatment, dose, medication, reason for treatment, and player and medical sign off should have been recorded for every treatment.

The reason for this is if an adverse reaction occurs with a patient, the doctor needs to know exactly what was taken, how much and when, in case it may be a cause of the reaction, or may effect treatment for it

This is why poor record keeping is deemed a potential reason for a work place being considered unsafe

Again, sorry for the intrusion, but I thought some clarification on this subject may benefit your discussion
Well every public and private hospital should be penalised by worksafe as it is very common for the nurses to not record what is given in hospitals...

Happens on every ward in every hospital

It's a lot different comparing primary school kids with grown men. And in any case the primary school would need parental/guardian permission to be compliant.

Yes but Baguley didn't get one and he's an older player, but was first year in 2012.

Obviously there were factors of a somewhat miscellaneous nature which determined whether players participated or not.
Yeah I guess Baguley was a young 25yo

Could relate to not being in a professional environment - if you consider playing WAFL more professional as opposed to playing for Frankston etc.

Scientifically (and seriously) I understood Dank analysed the players bloods to see which ones had certain lower levels which may leave them prone to injury. It could have been Baguley had normal or higher levels so didn't need treatment and younger players were still developing and growing so they're levels were naturally higher etc.

The program was all about injury prevention and recovery - performance enabling rather than enhancement.

They are supposed to.

Hospitals is actually much more strict, but a lot are still running on old school approaches to this

At the Alfred I know I was recorded for every single bloody pill they gave me (drove me nuts!!)

Yeah it's inconsistent - every hospital I've been to or a family member it's been fairly useless with the nurses rushed and changing shifts etc. IMO they should all have tablets running software to record it upon administration.

FWIW, its moving that way

GRC software takes care of much of that now, just comes down to places finally updating and getting off paper and excel

Easy to pass judgment from the sidelines.
Fun too.

You make to many assumptions.

In my day it was rubella. And I thought "i'm getting my rubella shot because tgey said we're getting rubella shots." I didn't think "well I don't know what this is but they said its good"

That is my beef - everytime someone uses the "no idea" hyperbole Caro shines up her ill gotten walkley..

I say just plead guilty and get it over with. However if we were to plead guilty now it may prove prejudicial to our CAS hearing. Who cares it's a relatively small fine.

I guess the other positive thing about tablets, etc is you can add some intelligence into it as well.

Put the medication and and before it's given it can check patient allergies, drug interactions, dosage amounts automatically.

Adds in another layer of protection in terms of doctors being checked by nurses who are checked by the software.

I think even WADA might be wishing the Essendon thing would just go away today. The Russian revelations are amazing and WADA look to have their hands full for the next year or so.

I reckon there's a board on BF and a couple of unhinged journos that will claim Russia simply followed the EFC lead after taking note of the lenience extended to the club despite the systematic doping taking place.

Sounds like 'par for the course' for the Dank program - You are being king using the term miscellaneous.

I laughed.

But then I realised you're almost certainly right.
