The AFL announced on Thursday that it had identified 12 clubs that had conducted supplements programs that lacked accountability but would not pursue any further investigations as it was confident that, aside from Essendon, clubs had not used illegal or questionable substances.

Did the AFL actually say this?

If so, we were charged for (essentially) poor HR and "governance", not "illegal or questionable substances", so please explain.

You have to wonder, if we had our time all over again in this matter, whether we might have been better off not heading Vlad's phone tip-off and just closing ranks with collective "no comment" responses. I hardly think we would have fared any worse than we did co-operating.

I think that's the most important lesson all the clubs have learned from this. Never trust the AFL.

The best we can hope for is that public opinion gets swayed back in our favour a bit. No chance the AFL will punish other clubs for anything related to governance.

The sillys.
Depends how hard the media push it. I don't think Robbo has many friends at AFL House anymore, and Mick Warner had his accreditation revoked for the finals - there's a good chance that the Sun run with it, regardless of that snivelling campaigner Ralph. I'd love them to get a weekly ASADA column from Grant Thomas.

Surely the biggest story ever is 12 clubs in supplements scandal! As if those corrupt and biased campaigners would run with a story like that. And then even more unbelievable would be if the AFL did something that was 'fair' in response.

Give us our picks back you campaigners.

Any of you guys on Twitter need to get into these people's ears and let them know us EFC supporters want answers!

Protecting, covering up could lead to a burning. Dangerous grounds. Good luck AFL. You may need it!?

People like the truth.
I don't wholly agree with this post. People like a truth that suits their own agenda and beliefs.
The foamers on the HTB and yes 3 of the most vocal anti Bombers have had their teams named as approaching ASADA. They do not want to even contemplate that their clubs may be involved. So no not every one wants the truth

I find it interesting and intriguing that it seems this story about the 11 other clubs first appeared from the AFL. are they now coming forward after 10 months of covering up in hopes of a leaner sentence???

This whole thing seems rotten to the core. It seems to be Vlad's way to pin 1 club/player to the wall to avoid an all out catastrophe. I remember when west coast were dragged through the mud a few years back for their cocaine usage, as if all other clubs/players were innocent there.

If the AFL can't sweep this under rug, i'd imagine vlad's days are numbered

On another note, I heard a buzz on one of those facebook "free agency, trades etc" pages about collingwood asking asada for an investigation. I'm sure this is just some tabloid sensationist caroline wilson esque blogging things but has anyone else heard something similar??

No club will ever willingly undertake an ASADA investigation, after the schemozzle of 2013.

Massive mistake holding hands with the devil & walking ignorantly straight to the gallows.
The fix & subsequent cover-up's are done & so are the chances of anyone else being implicated.

I'm sorry to bring up this stupid toad's shit again in this thread, but on SEN Patrick phones in his "goose of the week" and that is "anyone who links the twelve clubs with supplements programs with Essendon - the worst governance breach in history". FOR ****'S SAKE!!! This is the guy who from word go was on Essendon for governance, before we heard anything. The guy would have wadded all over the SEN studio if he read a report early last year that said Essendon had "an inappropriate definition of supplements and a flawed selection process in the employment of support staff" and lacked "accountability". And now we have a list of teams that have ticked these boxes and have found themselves in the position where Essendon were earlier in the year, oh, minus requesting an investigation. Geez. I mean for ****'s sake, "employment of support staff", "definition of supplements" - these were on the list of trumped up charges that got a team kicked out of the finals for the first time in history in place of actual drug charges. [/rant]

Oh but Fatprick is AFL acredited. The AFL has said they are "confident" all is fine with the other clubs. Therefore Fatprick is fine with all other clubs too, and since the AFl punished EFC and nobody else then we are, and always will be, the bad guys.

As an FYI, my email to ASADA from last week has not received a response of any sort. Not that it was expected, but just keeping you all informed of "developments".

I'm suprised you didn't receive an out of the office auto-reply

"Dear valued.... customer??
You email is very important to us but unfortunately we are out of the office until this whole thing blows over

Kind regards,

Andrew Deme ASADA"

yeah that's not happening.

we accepted the penalties. we were strongarmed and forced into it, but we accepted unfortunately.

Demetriou being exposed and sacked is a possibility if someone pulls their finger out and does some investigative journalism, but the rest isn't a chance

Yeah unfortunately the ******s who think they'd fit the bill know which side of their bread is buttered don't they?

We need a journalistic White Knight. Someone who doesn't care who they piss off to get the truth out there. Could be a Walkley in it..
