Age reported Casey Scorpions have the best defence in VFL. Statistics showing the least goals kicked against them. Thoughts

Lowest points against but only sixth highest points for.

Points difference also less - Williamstown 356, Sandringham 345, Casey 226.

Probably a bit to do with game style and ground size.

That said they are certainly doing much better than I thought they would this year.

Silvagni born 29/09/1987 listed at 192cm 92Kg

Sautner would be pleased to be included in bigger bodied players category. Similar size to Silvagni, maybe a little shorter.

yeah. i apologise for my mis information. was talking to the casey scorpions scout today and he said that Silvagni was being highly thought about by the Saints. as they have an aging kp backs, is also known around the club, work ethic etc. i wouldnt mind him at essendon though. seems a very likely type. would be a good choice maybe from left field. get him into a full preseason in the gym, and watch it do wonders to the kid.

Judging purely from the scores, the last 3 weeks Casey's defense has been poor, and are no longer statistically the best defense in the VFL.

What's caused the turnaround?

He kept a defender goalless? first half of the Casey vs BHH game, dawson was playing FB. 2nd half, Mitchell 9coach) realised we needed a change and sent him forward in order to provide another option
