CASEY SCORPIONS 2.2 14.6 19.8 12.12 (84)
GEELONG Catttttts 7.2 10.3 12.3 13.5 (83)

Goals:
Casey Scorpions: Watts 3 Voss 2 Carmody 2 Eddy Brooks Makepeace Armitage Sweeney.
Geelong: Grima 3 Lonergan 3 Davenport 2 Firman Walker Djerrkura Forbes West.

Best:
Casey Scorpions: Carmody Ferguson Voss Harrison Watts Gwilt.
Geelong: Davenport Firman Byrnes King Johnson Owen.

Reports: Nil. At Casey Fields.

Interesting that Ferguson is playing so well.
His bad luck was that he was injured when all our defenders were struck down, he has come good as all our (first choice) defenders are returning or have returned. He has been played in the backline due to the Saints need at the time, he was recruited as a forward. He has a nice kick but he is an awkward height - sort of medium height - he has filled in as a tall usually, but I don't think that's his forte.
Did anyone get to the Scorps match ? How about a review - it must have been exciting !!!

Ferguson played an outstanding game, I know he has some critics but geez he was good.

Ferguss forced his way into the contest, geelong always seemed to have numbers back, and his work rate was excellent.

Gwilt and Raph clarke worked in tandum in defense (you can barely tell them apart) and both were serviceable in the first but started to take a little bit of control in the second.

David Armitage struggled in the first half but he too had the workrate to get into the contest.

It was good to have Matt Clarke play to take Steven Kings Dominance out of the equation (last time Van Rheenan had to battle on him all day)

Brett Voss took some great marks around the ground and his leadership around the ground and at the breaks is invaluable (adresses the the side at breaks, controls movements on the ground)

A good day, and the scorps are slowly building momentum, if they can muster a win against 3rd placed coburg in a couple fo weeks (bye next weekend) then they face 3 beatable sides on the run home (no easy beats though; Tassie, Bendigo, Port.)

Positive signs, St. Kilda's injury list (or current lack of) have significantly contributed to their good form.

I too didn't analyse the game closely enough to give a full proper wrap though!

One of the best bits about the result is who we were playing - not just because it was Geelong (who likes 'em...?), but because they're the top side in both the AFL and VFL right now, so to beat them is a big sign of where we're at.

The best part is that it really puts pressure on the players in the seniors. Blake HAS to be worried. Fiora too. And Xav. Even Rix must be wondering, what with Clarke coming back. I'm not saying any of these players should be dropped, just that they will be thinking they need to play well to make sure they aren't - and that's a good thing.

20 pts and 9 positions off us in the AFL and 10pts and 5 positions in the VFL? I dont really understand how a 1 pt win in the VFL shows where you are at?

He's giving your team a compliment in a way dip shit. By beating a side in good form means that you are capible of running it out with the best of them.

Yes, I would've thought the term "TOP SIDE" would've given it away that I rate the Cats as a good team. To beat a good team (like Geelong, in case you missed it patdman) can often mean we're also a good team.

There are none so blind as those that will not see...
