Barry, Tynan and Taggert all showed signs - but Tynan needs to use the ball much better.

Gillies is even a spud in the VFL.

Not much to get excited about Davis either. Wasn't terrible but didn't show much either and with the talls we've already got on the list I can't see the point in persisting with him.

Going to be a while before Barry pushes for a spot - looked a stick figure compared to a few bigger bodies and we've got enough guys who struggle to find the footy already.

Taggart did some good things and spread well but had a few deer in headlight moments and shanks with the pill.

Tynan... meh?

Might have been my imagination but it didn't seem like the other players were too keen to give Gillies the ball?

I reckon it'd be worth throwing something Carlton's way for Bell and Warnock. Don't seem to be getting a look in, should be keen to play and wouldn't cost us much, I hope.

I have an erection that will not go away when I see Hogan play.

*No homo......actually screw it, homo.
He turned 18 on Feb 12 Dez, your free to pursue your new love interest without worrying about any legal implications.

Casey had a loss today:

Final scores: Casey 8.10.58 defeated by Werribee 17.12.114.

Goal Kickers: Hogan 3 Hill 2 Tapscott Barry Rodan
Casey Best: Pedersen Panozza Strauss Barry Tynan Macdonald

Pedersen our best! Ominous signs...

Pederson deserves a shot next week just so we can get rid of Dunn. Was all over the ground today one of the few redeeming players out there. Barry also showed a lot of spirit.

Can Pedersen play on mediums though?

Hogan - was isolated after Sellar and Davis were injured early. Seems to have a decent engine as he had to roam far and wide to get possessions. 3 goals was a good return for not his or the teams best game.
Strauss - need not bother packing his sun screen or tropical kit. Terrible decision making - would like to have seen his kicking efficiency - doubt whether it was over 20 per cent - just coughed it up time and time again - no presence for a supposed a-lister.
Rodan - looked lively until injured - should probably have played down south yesterday.
Davis - looked as though he was forging a good relationship with Hogan - presented well early then rib injury - I was standing near the interchange and he couldnt breath without pain.
Gillies - spud
Couch - quiet then injured
Tynan - still light framed - not sure if he will get a chance this year
Magner - in the game all day but suffered from the team disease of poor disposal when it counted.
Pederson - had to take over the ruck - took some good grabs but see Magner
Barry - quiet early but after quarter time lifted his intensity and work rate - is quick and could be a good kick
Sellar - head clash put him out of the game early - hard to assess
Joel Mac - spud - bad disposal bad decisions gave away stupid free kicks
Viney - fairly quiet - in and under - doesnt get much clear possession - always seems to be under pressure - will improve with a run
Tapscott - again, quiet and struggling to impose himself on the game - not likely to get a call up on that showing

From Demonland.

Shot to the heart for Tapscott and Strauss fans. Still doing SFA.

Strauss was named in the bests, we all know that folks on Demonland have big biases regarding Melbourne listed players.... so I'll take it with a grain of salt until the team is named I guess.

Interesting to note the conditions were quite windy.

Taggert must have played in the reserves then...? and Jetta too? Not good

Better then Pedersen I'd wager.

Granted it was the seconds but Pederson did more today than Dunn has in the past month, too many poor decisions and unnecessary turnovers are the direct result of his idiocy.

There's a reason why Shane Valenti and Tom Couch are such good VFL players. VFL form from middle-aged spuds has no bearing on their AFL capacity.

Bit harsh, Couch hasn't had a real go at AFL and regardless of your age it's extremely hard for anyone to make the step up from VFL to AFL and instantly make an impact.

Unfortunately when you're a mature age player you have to make an impact.

I would still put Pederson ahead of Dunn. As bad as Pederson is. Dunn makes so many mistakes and creates so many turnovers he might as well be playing for the opposition.

2 different type of players though, our backline is big enough with Frawaley, garland and McDonald down back, would prefer to give Tynan a few games down back before the season is out

Dunn is 191cm and plays small, Pedersen is 193cm and plays tall.

Dunn has played 100 games for the Dees and suits our needs better than Pedo's. Simple.

Pederson is a horrible spoiling defender as well , he seems to avoid contact at all costs

Tynan I could handle. With Dunn I would rather just go out with 21 players on gameday than have him in the side

No, it's the same as a young player you still need time to adapt to the speed of top level footy.

That's not what I was saying, as a mature player you're given less chances to prove you can play.

If you can't make some sort of impact immediately then it's not looking good for you.
