Apparently Toumpas had a good game. If it were up to me I'd keep him there the rest of the year and let him play finals with the other kids, bring fitzpatrick, gawn, spencer, and blease back to Casey come the end of the season and give them a shot at the flag. Finals series be it AFL or VFL, is always great experience for young players. We're not going to be competitive in the big time for a while anyway so there's no point in trying to make sure these guys are all good and set for day one of preseason at the moment.

I like this theory but I'm sure Gawn will do his knee if we decide to go that way. It's just the MFC way.

I dont think Gawn will have enough games to qualify either.

By the way guys, I have it on good authority we are not pulling the boys from Casey this finals. Here's hoping we go all the way!

That is great news. It's pissed me off the last couple of years that we've been wanting Casey to do the right thing by Melbourne in developing the young players and then when finals come around all the better performed Melbourne listed players are made unavailable and Casey only get access to a couple of spuds. For the relationship to be strong there needs to be give and take and this is a good start. :thumbsu:

It's also important from a development point of view, letting the youngsters experience some success! That is the reason the decision has been made. The Casey relationship is secondary to that in this.

It might be Jesse Hogan's only chance for a premiership in quite some time! :P

Well after the year we've had letting the young blokes experience some success would be hugely important to their mental health! I'd be staggered though if Casey hadn't mentioned that bombing out in straight sets of the finals every year without their best Melbourne listed players isn't great for morale either.

If anyone is planning on entering the comp for the bike can you please put down the lack of casey player numbers in the vfl reviews, its hard to workout who alot of the rookies are sometimes.

Hyper extension of the knee. Didn't look great

Would be good news if that's the worst of his injury. I would take a hyper extension over an acl any day of the week.

Definitely better than an acl. Has played no further part in the game. Was standing next to his mum and dad when they came and told them what the injury was, didn't seem too concerned. Certainly wasn't good news, but not the worst by the look of things

In other news, we're belting them. Over 100 points in the 4th. They're a shit team but its still good to get a flogging.

Taggert has 4 or 5 goals, Magner had 29 disposals AT HALF TIME. Both should come in next week.

Hopefully Hogan is just a PCL at most. Means he'll be fit for pre-season week 1. Can chill out with Clark in rehab for a little while.
