Back to what this means for Melbourne. Nobody smashing the door down so I’ll bunch them in the positions they were playing as that’s probably the best guide as to who may be in line if required.
Ruck: Daw
Onball: Dunstan, Melksham, Laurie briefly
Wings: Howes, Woewodin, Melksham
Backs: D.Smith, Rosman, McVee
Forwards: Bedford, Chandler, Moniz-Wakefield, M.Brown, Laurie
I didn’t see much of Mitch Brown in the second half so not sure if injured or managed (or I just didn’t see him).
I watched the second half, streamed from afl.We complain about AFL commentators, and I know these blokes are probably being paid with a free lunch, but they are horrendous.
I turned off, the last ten minutes. Because of the commentators.yeah the commentary was that bad i turned it off after about 5 minutes. there wasn't much point listening to them anyway because they don't even know who the players are.
Bedford if it’s as a pressure forward you want.Laurie looking anything like a chance to play AFL any time soon or nah? Who would you pick out of the small forwards if you had to choose one for the AFL?
or not calling the player because they just don't know who the players was with the ball.No replays and the commentators getting players’ names wrong constantly makes this a tricky watch.
I saw the aftermath of the Brown incident with him on the ground on the half forward flank. I did think “Geez, I wonder what happened, it was way off the ball” but I think the commentators were screaming about McDonald-Tipingwuti and it distracted me.Apparently Brown copped a whack off the ball earlier in the game and didn't come back on.
JVR was a late out, so the team was missing tall forwards Weideman, M. Brown and JVR from last week.
Bedford if it’s as a pressure forward you want.
Chandler if it’s offence you want.
Moniz-Wakefield shows glimpses of a similar style to Bedford, but he’s miles off it.
Laurie is at least showing signs of why he was drafted. He reminds me of Spargo in that he’s not athletically gifted but he seems a good decision maker and kick. I still think he’d be behind several at this stage, be it Bedford and Chandler as a forward, or any number of others as a mid.
