Worst trade ever?

That's easy. Pick 16 and 46 for Stephen O'Reilly who played 12 games for the Blues. AND Carlton had to pay him illegally outside the cap. AND he blew the whistle on them. AND the Scum had to pay a fine. AND they got kicked out of the draft and had to recruit hacks. AND it meant that their multi-million investment in Denis Pagan was a waste because he had no players.

Stephen O'Reilly for - Pick 16, pick 46, $1m fine, pick 1, 2, 17 and 33 in the 2003 draft, pick 1 in the 2003 PSD, 1st and 2nd round picks in the 2004 draft.

Daylight second behind this one.

Still miss you Weaver....

That is, without any shadow of a doubt, the best post in the history of bigfooty. :D

I agree that we shouldn't go out and actively poach/seek players from other clubs. Build from within.

But it should never be totally discounted. If a West Aussie comes out and says he's disenchanted at say, Carlton, for example ;), Melbourne's too bloody cold, I'm thinking of heading home to Perth - then yeah, give it a serious look.

Don't think Cale Morton would want to come over. He's got his brothers over there and I heard that his parents were packing up and moving over to Melbourne to be closer to there sons

Stick to developing our own players and developing our own successful culture. No more imports who just want the big bucks or to be closer to Mummy.

Harvey has started this process, he just needs to stay the course and see it through.

..and I`m not so sure Yarran will be a gun anyway.

Stick to majority WA talent. How many players coming back home could we have got originally in the draft?

I dont mind throwing money at players from other teams, but they have to have the runs on the board and not passed it.
