Yep the teacher grows mushrooms, even has the lions mane mushroom which used to be illegal to have in Australia, it has great benefits to mental health supposedly

Do South Aussie's not make mushroom jokes, is it only a Vic thing 🤔

When I was in Adelaide last year I was very jealous of the variety and prices of the mushroom store at the Central Market, and I'm pretty sure they had lions mane mushrooms. I'm a crazy mushroom fan, but we don't get the variety that I saw there and I'm not sure I could really pack them in my bag to bring home

Yes I got the joke, assuming it was an Erin Patterson one. We are serious about mushrooms here and I know of two specific locations to find the magic ones but you have to be careful as there is a potentially fatal one that looks almost exactly the same. We also have the ghost fungi here which glows in the dark and is only in a few different locations.

I'm within easy driving distance of the Otways where there's organised mushroom tours so you can learn about what's growing, foraging etc, but it's not something I would do on my own as I don't have enough of an idea

I do remember as a kid (like 4ish), it was the day we were moving out of our rental to our new home in Geelong area and being a kid my parents wanted me out of the way - so I went and sat in the backyard where the "mushrooms" were going and got myself a snack 😂

I would have eaten 4 or 5 when I told mum what I was doing and then ate no more - I don't remember falling sick, so they obviously weren't that dangerous

Couple of highly recommended YouTubers also agree

They are too cheap (unless they're tiny). But I guess she wants to sell them. Hope it's a worthwhile profit.
She gets told that but at least she sells out, markets can be hit and miss
