Gentlemen

Miers: have we dropped him in off too little preparation the way we did last year with Dahlhaus/Menegola or this year with Henry? Have others just gone past him?

Dahlhaus: career over?

How are our key defenders in the 2s going? I checked for names on the sheet and didn't see any. Surely that can't be right?

Neale worth a shot over sav anytime soon?

Unfortunately I had doubts about our performance before Monday's game. Conditions were ripe for us to have a stinker; a long break before the game (not quite a bye, but close) and an opponent we should easily put to the sword.
It's the perfect storm for Geelong unfortunately. Blind Freddy can predict but our coaches can't?
This week against Kangas will be interesting, we normally bounce back after these poor performances but another supposed easy opponent may see a few not show up again..

I’m obviously a little disappointed about the loss like most cats fans, but I prefer they persist with this new, faster game plan than revert to the slow, precise football from the last few years. It’s similar to watching the cats from yesteryear. Their biggest challenge seems to be tightening up the defence, but I believe they’ll resolve this after a few more games.

What are your thoughts on the game style and where they need to improve to compete with the best teams in September?

The stats will not bear it out but do we have an issue on the quality of our clearances?

Does it feel like our entries for the most part do not at all favour our forwards?

If the devil offered any key defender in the league for your soul, which defender would stick in to permanently deploy Blitz as a wing forward?

Are you both joining the cult of Ollie Dempsey? (Send $49.99 to my po box in cash to get ordained a minister in the church)

Random question for the podcast: Who is the K Rock box's favourite "what were they thinking?" Geelong recruit of recent years? Options are:

  • Hamish McIntosh
  • Mitch Clark
  • Josh Jenkins
  • Jack Steven
  • Insert any other relevant name here

Did what we had to v the kangaroo. Guthrie played his best game for some time, actually kicking the ball forward. Liked what I saw of Dempsey, would like him to continue in the side. Also thought Kolo played a good game, in particular 2 tackles on zuhaar were Greco Roman wrestling style.. the yo yo Stanley was good, and with no Sean Darcy, would hope plays another good game. SDK job on Larkey was witness protection sort of stuff. We have a spot in mid season draft, would it be worth looking at a young key defender? Someone that would come straight into centre half back in vfl and break in case of an emergency? Understand that we wouldn’t get a star.
Also it wasn’t me that stole the beer from the Warrnambool racecourse. Any tips for the may carnival?

Ill do my best to make sure I dont OMIT anything important whilst MANAGING to make this short and sweet :p

Tomma is 33 and has 308 games.

Can he realistically become the clubs games record holder? Sel will probably get another 20 games or so and be around the 350 mark.

Tomma, given his form and fitness could play another 2 years after this. Thats a solid 70 games. He could get to 370 or so.... And in terms of goals... he's at 685.. and could reasonably snag another 100 or so.... putting him close to or over the 800.

Do you agree?

PS - we can get some NFL pads for Beeny and Neeldy in the box and let them Thunder dome it out on air... awesome.

Pothole to be play the Tina Turner part.

Mine is a similar boat to Calder Daddy.... According to footywire, here is our list of players who are out of contract at the end of 2022... Name the players who you would keep or delist or will ask for a new home. But than name what you think the Club will do...

The boys should do a second special podcast, called

GFC 2022 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists 😂

You know, because we love it more than the game itself

Hi all,

We're back at 12pm Wednesday - give us your best and we'll try to reciprocate.

Frustrating loss. Miers just has to be dropped. He likes a physical contest as much as I like non alcoholic beer. Surely frank the tank would offer more in that role. Higgins might have had 21 touches but her he’s a selfish player. Kolodjashnij is a liability when the ball is on the ground.
Cooper Stephen’s averaging 22 touches
and 4 tackles in vfl. Give him a taste. Shannon Neale showing very good signs, Mitch knevitt also progressing well in the 2s. I’d rather see either Stephen’s or nick stevens, knevitt, Dempsey etc make mistakes cos they’ll improve. Higgins Dalhouse will not. Hawks loss will haunt as season goes on

Things cats fans can't seem to agree on:

Was Higgins any good in the Dockers match? A good burst late but that's about it. We have grey zone but no solid answers

Is Neale ready to go 2nd ruck in the seniors? His around the ground work great on the weekend but ruck work was not particularly inspiring. Could be a special player in future.

Second and third looked like dockers toyed with us and worked out we can’t spread. Played us perfectly and made the ground big.

Is it a concern that Tom Stewart is racking up 40 in the back half and also starting our attacks? Time for others to step up??

Also do you think the C Scott dislike comes from him appearing as though he is the smartest person in the room? (He may be) Tony Shaw smashed him on another station for his arrogance at responses to questions. He’s a great spinner and rarely gives us direct answer. Thoughts?

Cheers

As frustrating as dropping the beans on video poker at the Rio casino bar and never quite hitting the big one so you just keep going and failing -

gamble responsibly - not Benny's version

Exactly like watching the Cats play - frustrating They turned it on late to no avail. Gotta be consistent and they arent and now the injuries are piling up. Hard to watch.

Hope No Relation is ok.

And for the home gamers... dont stay at the Rio...rooms are like it was when Deniro was playing Ace Rothsein in Casino. Movie great.. rooms horrenodus.

We must get Shannon Neale re-signed and fast. 200cm blokes receiving handball after rucking at the centre bounce, running thru the top of the arc and kicking it from 51m on the run are gold.
Must be mission #1 as the WA teams will be calling and WC will wanna replace Nic Nat.

Do you agree?

Gents...

I just want to endorse Sam DeKonning to the AFL and to promote to him for a chance to get nominated for a NAB Rising Star nomination...
Please look outside the box of young Midfielders who get 20 plus disposals.... and young forwards who get 3 plus goals... and look at the key defender that may not get heap of the ball and may not kick any goals, but for the big job he does and plays of the best 1st or 2nd Key Defender of each side..

Cheers FoxDog50
