6 intercepts too, used the ball well and I believe one of Higgins goals came against O'Connor. We got half a dozen more posts about his passenger status from one person, but in defined lockdown roles I think he's been useful this year.Great to see Mullin get some coaches votes. I thought he was very good yesterday.
He blanketed Higgins and really put some good physical pressure on him at every opportunity - which Higgins did not like. Very similar to the way he worked Nick Daicos over V Pies.

One of Higgins goals was from a free kick against Jack Henry - it was when Stewart was kicking out from a behind & the ball dropped short of Henry, who according to the umpire made high contact with Higgins when he was tackled6 intercepts too, used the ball well and I believe one of Higgins goals came against O'Connor. But anyway, I was going to highlight that by coaches votes we have:
-2 of the top 10 ranked midfielders: Holmes and Smith
-3 of the top 20 ranked forwards: Cameron, Dangerfield and Mannagh
-Only 1 of the top ranked 50 defenders: Zuthrie (25th)
This is a very attack-heavy distribution compared to most teams, which I imagine surprises nobody based off our season so far.

It was definitely MOC.One of Higgins goals was from a free kick against Jack Henry - it was when Stewart was kicking out from a behind & the ball dropped short of Henry, who according to the umpire made high contact with Higgins when he was tackled
Krock suggested his other goal was against Mullin, but I'd have to re-watch that passage to know who he was lining up on
That would have to be Stewarts lowest votes at this point of a season in a long time.Geelong Cats 2025 Coaches' Votes Leaderboard

Oh man, I used to own an alfetta. Every inch of it was beautiful. This comment is bringing up old woundsMartins frame is similar to Camerons and you would think that wireiness woukd be similarly durable. But Cameron is like a Landcruiser and Martin a Alfasud

Sorry, we are going off topic.

CheersThat was O’Connor
Cheers
I was sitting the other end of the ground, couldn't clearly tell who the player was that gave away the free kick - and not happy with lack of replays during the game
And in possible an unpopular opinion, I think some responsibility for that goal also rests on Stewart who should have been able to make that kick to O'Connor rather than dropping it at his feet
I hope the’ trickle down effect’ works on him because he has many good attributes and may be wasted really as a lockdown if that’s as good as it gets.6 intercepts too, used the ball well and I believe one of Higgins goals came against O'Connor. We got half a dozen more posts about his passenger status from one person, but in defined lockdown roles I think he's been useful this year.
Yeah re-watched both goals, that MOC one you have to put largely on Stewart's kick in. Just wasn't there. That was O’Connor

The other one where he crumbed front and centre is the one I assume KRock attributed to Mullin but it's hard to tell from the camera angle whose fault it is. Stewart looked like he was the one directly bodying up on Higgins then just dropped the mark. Mullin looked like he was going back behind to protect the space NWM was running into. More of a team goal conceded there I think.
Stews been terrible most of the year, takes easy intercepts loose that make him look good but the one on ones that a good player needs to mark or spoil he spills and costs us goals on the regular needs to get his body right and significantly lift come the business end if we are going to beat the best teams. The second goal Mullin peels off to protect Stewart from Liam Henry in the marking contest. It looks like he did ok and Stewart just dropped a mark he really should be taking. Stewart drops the mark and Higgins is on his own to goal.
I'm not sure what the review would discuss there. I think they'd probably be happy with his reading of the play and helping Stewart even though it didn't work out at all well.
Stewart had some pretty shocking moments that led to goals. Both Higgins goals and getting caught holding the ball in the first.
Ah Liam Henry, I stand corrected. Yeah the only way around that one would have been stewy nailing the mark or else having an extra there in frontThe second goal Mullin peels off to protect Stewart from Liam Henry in the marking contest. Watched him live first time this year, looked well off the pace, either unfit, hampered or both. On his haunches a lot and poor body language. Hoping he just had a bug or something but its concerning as it reflects his consistently poor form all yearStews been terrible most of the year, takes easy intercepts loose that make him look good but the one on ones that a good player needs to mark or spoil he spills and costs us goals on the regular needs to get his body right and significantly lift come the business end if we are going to beat the best teams.
Everyones always quick to pot the likes of Mullin and MOC but how about we put some responsibility on the experienced player thats consistently letting us down.

Think he should have had surgery when he initially injured himself to be honest, now theyve just got to the stage where hes got to fight through it all year, dont think we did the team or him any favours when we made that call.Poor guy looks like he is held together with elastoplast .
Not a good sign…
