The tirade on the mid-week tackle was way over the top. News is supposed to be objective. Felt like I was watching Sky News with the amount of hyperbole.

It’s not the media’s right to get anything or to take photos of anything, they can do what they want, if someone doesn’t like it and tells them, that’s the job. Football media are parasites.

I do think Bailey should let it go. But they do target him and it must be exhausting, I think he’s well within his rights to not want photos taken of himself in a vulnerable position.

And those who argue that he posts worse on social media. Well that’s his right and he curates and chooses that.

Probably right, maybe the PF may be a bit optimistic but must be a real chance if we make it through to the GF, all depends on the severity of the injury obviously.

This information does not surprise. He should not have spoken to a journo like that but the description of it by fans just does not match the behaviour

I think it’s pretty clear that the club as a whole regards the media as a bit of a nuisance.

Scott was fuming a few weeks ago about that footage of him and Baz chatting at training being broadcast.

You could even point to us continuing to publish the most vague injury list in the league, and the occasional late changes. Scott has even mocked people who get angry about these things.

Anecdotally, our media department has long been regarded as one of the most challenging for journos to work with.

In that sense Baz has found the perfect home for him and vice versa.

Regarding the incident today, clearly Baz shouldn’t have reacted that way and there’s no benefit in bringing negative PR the club’s way in the middle of the finals.

It’s also completely overblown because it’s Bailey Smith, and because anything he does on or off-field gets clicks and engagement which is the media wants.
