One of the other interesting stats from tonight's game, and I saw this on the TV screens as I was leaving the ground

Scores from kick ins -
Geelong: 0 . 0 . 0
Brisbane: 0 . 0 . 0

Wonder if that's happened before or did they flash the wrong info on the board?

Actually he would have got the 15 odd metres he ran before kicking

Which means for the rest of the game he had negative metres gained
His only other disposal was a solitary handball - must have been a decent backwards handball or run before it

He really did have minimal impact tonight

Those “gifts” to the flopper by Terry Wallace’s son were shockers. Albeit his son, I hope Plough says to him WTF.

Nathan Buckley and former AFL umpire Head denounced the decisions.

Had those two decisions cost a team a flag, they would go down in AFL infamy.

It takes a bit to stir up Cat supporters, but that did the trick tonight.

If those who make the AFL field umpire appointments are genuine, that’s the last we’ll see of him this year.

On a more positive note, I thought Fages showed his class in the post-game presser by spending quite some of the time crediting the Cats.

This might sound a bit odd given how colossal his opponent’s performance was - Andrews was close to, if not clearly, Brisbane’s best tonight, but I actually thought Neale could take a lot out of the game. He just kept presenting. That’s all you can ask of a big man in a game where his opponent is clearly on top. He didn’t let him get to the point where he just stopped trying. He was still trying to run to the drop of the ball to those kicks to the goal square, he was trying to be the man in those packs, and eventually it DID earn him a goal. That is absolutely all you can ask of a key forward who gets beaten.

So many guys who get their colours lowered by a key defender just drift out of the game altogether and it’s true he had basically no influence in the outcome of the game but he at least made Andrews play the game that he played. He will learn a lot from the game tonight

Bailey Smith popped into the after game presser. Danger enjoyed teasing Baz about his lawn + horror edging.

Baz is so cute. Unfazed, talked about planting 35 trees. Weed + feed for the lawn. Weeds popping up everywhere + pulling out the weeds. Play it Sam knows more about Baz + his weeds 😜

He said players: “They can’t run with us in the second half, so we just outwork them. Yeah, it probably took us some time to work into the game. But Holmesy’s a star, his run + carry, no one can run with him, he’s so fast. Yeah, we know the longer the game goes, the more we’ll outrun teams + that is something we aim to do + it comes down to willpower by the end of it. Then we really have to amp up our pressure, try to turn them over. They’re such good ball users through the middle, so we just tried to mitigate that + make them go down the line.”

Tom Hawkins: “Looked like you Invited Brisbane to use the middle at times.”
“Yes, like teasing distance. Making it look a bit laxed on. We had the energy to be ready to come forward + defend. Trust the people coming from behind us. If they end up getting one out the back, we’re OK with that, we kept coming forward + really squeezed the game. So yeah, we go away with it. You know, I think it was a good formula + they fell for it.”

OMG!!! I love Baz 😻
“Mullins was on McCluggage + Mez on Rayner, which was entertaining to watch. We gave away two snags. But we’ve got so many good role players. So the more we can, I don’t know, just keep on going.”

Lol looks like I'm not the only person googling who umpire #33 is, coming up third most popular search already 🤣

(And yes I'll charge my phone when I go to bed in a sec)
He was scheisser. That umpire is either a cheat, taking bets, or just incompetent.

You know sometimes I think we're just too good at football, and it's unfair, we should really take a gap year or something. Let someone else have a go. Said no Geelong supporter, ever

FIFY ☺️

Which makes him the third best mid in a side that only has 3 mids.
