Illustrates where we are.

We're not good in there, but we're not awful either.

It's the epitome of a mediocre midfield. If you compare it to what we've had in the past, it's god awful.

It's not the worst in the competition though. That's just as outlandish as pretending it's elite.

I think Baz, Holmes and Atkins is a fantastic centre square trio. The problem is.... who's fourth in line? In an ideal world it'd be Guthrie / Bruhn / maybe Stewart with cameos from Dangerfield but it hasn't panned out that way.
Yep, it's our 4th/5th rotation that are killing us. Same deal with our second wing. Smith, Holmes, Atkins and Blicavs once he's moved to ruck have been great for us. Dempsey as our primary wingman: excellent.

The clearances we win we score extremely well from (only Bulldogs have a better score differential from that source) as it's Smith, Holmes and Dempsey breaking into open space. Our raw numbers are middling because Atkins is our only "bull" and the likes of Bowes, Clark, Knevitt etc are not good enough.

But the fact of the matter is our forwards are getting enough looks. They are not creating or scoring enough, nor defending well enough (which generates repeat entries). We need a big lift from them in the second half of the year.

I'm glad Lloyd highlighted how soft this moment was from Cameron. I said when it happened how weak it was, completely unacceptable from a senior player to not be attacking the ball properly in a key moment like that. And then to make it worse he only put one arm out half-heartedly after the GWS player had shown more desire for the ball. Really poor.
Cameron is regarded as one of the best key forwards in the game, but he doesn’t kick enough goals

It's why I'm so big on a Worpel type to go with Butters or Reid.

The extra star would either get off the chain while Smith and Holmes cop the attention, or vice versa, but that extra grunt rotation can't be undesold either.

It would be like having another Atkins, albeit slightly better, to go with the three big guns + Dempsey on the wing.

It may even allow for us to play Baz or Holmes on the opposing wing with more regularity too, getting them in space, and charging forward.

The knock on effect gives the likes of Bowes, TB*, Clark, and Knevitt lesser roles to suit their limitations...or they're just out of the side all together. Either works.

I know we all want the big name, and it's still required, but the B+ option would do wonders too.

I don't want to go through the entire thread, can someone point out which post has all the players reviewed

Really been enjoying that one, can't remember the poster that does it

It's not the goals for mine. 20 is still a decent return, particularly with him getting on now.

It's the disappearing acts throughout games and the regular half-arsed efforts at contests that frustrate me far more. Maybe harsh too, but his inability to bring his best against the best regularly also frustrates.

People who don't watch Geelong regularly cry foul about how we'll able to replace him, but they're missing the forrest for the trees IMO.

Dangefield will be much, much harder to replace.

He's a champion, and his animalistic attack on the ball even at his age does so much for us, while always rising to the occasion the older he's gotten.

The second, third, and fourth efforts. The ability to put a side on his back even at 35 f***ing years of age.

I'd struggle to name a player like him throughout history. To be clear, Cameron's a star, but we'll figure something out.

Dangerfield is a different beast.

Dangerfield transformed the club, we’ve missed finals once with him. Generational player

His score involvements are way down this season. I haven't checked goal assists but they probably are too.

Cameron is too good not to find a decent amount of the ball and usually bob up for a couple of goals. But he's received no coaches votes love and little to no recognition in our boards MVP voting. He would be way down in the BnF. A player of his quality should still be top 3-5 for us in those areas and in every All Australian conversation.

Sooking it up because his mate is in trouble with the police? Not buying it
Or maybe he's close to it, or he knows shit. Who are we to know? If this had happened to me at that age I would be in a bit of a spin as would most of us. Give the kid a break.

BUT reality is he is not performing so there needs to be corrective action as has been suggested.

And the looks they do get are hard up against the flank. With the exception of course, misses from Blics and Neale, sometimes Danger, dead in front or achievable angle.

In days past, we got to rely on Cameron and Stengle, Henry (rarely) getting those complicated shots, they made it look easy. Now our heroes have feet of clay, and we're depending on Dempsey and Mannagh for the running plays close to goal. Shaun comes in for criticism with his Hail Mary shots, when they don't work, but in the absence of any high marker actually holding one, and Dempsey can't always be it, what else are we to do?

The forwards need to be fed smarter (thanks Gryan, where is Close?) and Neale and Cameron take some strong marks. It beggars belief that their choices look so poor, even to the extent of absolutely ignoring a free player streaming in.
Replay shows this often, and I noticed Duncan burning Mullin, for a bomb that didn't come off. He looked and decided against Mullin running free along the wing. Bowes often gets burned too, probably the game plan, FMD coaches!!!.
Zuth is also good for the long bomb to give us a chance, and that's all it is, often repelled.
Chaos- Not playing with any smarts, with few exceptions.

Just my thoughts.
Left field selection for next week.
The Number 2 returns.
The Polk
Nice first game in his home town would be good for the young fella.
Give Oh Henry a run in the Magoos. About time he earns his spot IMO.
At least the Polk will run chase and tackle.
Good call, I agree. Let’s see what he’s got.
Ollie is out of sorts and needs to rediscover some mojo.

Crowd of 28K on the weekend. Only once has the crowd gone above 33K since the re-opening, and that was 39K against the Saints R1 last year. With 90K members, would've thought we'd be getting higher crowds.
Plenty of excuses yesterday
Mothers Day, opposition...

Interested on opinions of what the best scheduling is for our KP games too
For me it's Day or Twilight but I'm in Melbourne
