Always a tough ask vs the reigning Premiers and this was no different.

Good first 1/2 but we arent' a 4 quarter team. Gave up a 31 point lead.

And when the effort dropped off, it went pear shaped pretty quick.

Skills were messy and we were not clean with the ball and plenty of players were well held an off their best.

Jezza, Stengle, Blitz, SDK, Neale ( hurt) Ollie Henry, Ollie Dempsey, Smith all pretty ineffective.

Not gonna win much when yo uhave that many down on form and being held.

Clohesy, CLark, Knevitt ( sub) tried but quiet too - but will be better for the run.

Mullin not in the worst at all this week.

On to next week and maybe we get Stewy back.

1 goal in the second half… What a waste when we were 32 up. We choked again.

Put a line through Clark and Bowes. I’m talking about their careers. Both dumb players. I’m certain they’ll never make it. What a disgrace using pick 8 on Clark.

Neale better hope that it’s his ankle that explained his career worst game.

SDK - I’d trade him. Soft dumb footballer who is irreparable from his mental demons since ‘22. He’s scared to mark with any contact and it’s cringe watching him.

O. Henry. An icing player that will never drag us over the line. I’m sick of his zero impact games in close matches.

Persist with Mullin.

Only ones that can hold their head high are Zuth, Humphries, Miers, COS, blitz and danger tried.

Credit where it is due. Mullin played well tonight.
Happy if that's the standard week to week.

I would be happy if they dropped Bowes. Giant nothing sandwich.

We can blame players for not playing well but it’s a team game and they all had a shocking second half, they need to learn how to play out second halves or play all four quarters or they’ll lose every time if they don’t start too.

An ok loss that becomes a bad loss because of last week. Once again had our chances.

Of course their sub comes on and creates two goals in two kicks.

But they are a really good side and we had a decent crack at them. Worry about what it looks like with big O back as we actually had a chance in the ruck tonight, and it made a huge difference.

Z Guthrie, Blicavs, Mullin were great.

SDK supremely disappointing.

Surely we take the Dees at home next week…

GREAT game by Mullin. Best I've seen from him. He's getting there.

7 players with less than 25 games and we were still in it up to the final minute of the game. With some more balanced decision making we might have won comfortably. Guthrie was great.

Think Neale's injury early on really hampered him. Couple that with Ollie Henry's seeming inability to impact the game if it's not coming in to him directly and we're in a spot of bother. Jezza being particularly quiet didn't help.

Lachie Neale held to 20 touches. Cameron held to a single goal.

Zorko and Andrews got off the chain a bit - disappointed not to see more done about that.

You can analyse all sorts of things but we lost because our forward line contributed almost nothing

Bit hard for the forwards to contribute when our midfield couldn't hit the side of a barn in that 2nd half.

We could've had Hawkins, the two Abletts, Buddy and Lockett down there and they'd have done 3/5ths of f**k all the way the ball was coming in.

Zorko, Payne & Andrews destroyed us, nothing was done about it.

Seems it was Miers vs Zorko for most of the night with neither paying much respect to the other

I know Miers is an experienced player with 134 games under his belt, but tonight needs to be seen as a learning experience for him - if they do a 1-on-1 video review of things, the coaches can pick out a few things he really should have done better, and when he needed to pay more respect to his opponent rather than expecting someone else to look after that side of things

A good example of that is the goal Zorko kicked at the end - Miers was in the same screenshot as him, but not paying him enough respect within the Lions forward 50. He needed to be on his hip, giving him no space and that's an area he can improve on

Zorko may still take the mark, but he may have had to earn it slightly more with some pressure

Literally PF 2.0 their back killed our forwards both from defence and offence. The uncontested marking and running through the centre of the ground.

Great games from O’Sullivan, Mullins, Zac.
Seriously Bowes does f all no way he should be in best 22 if everyone is fit. O Henry needs to find bit more ticker needs to take a look at how Humphries goes about it

Back to back close looses, in totally different ways. Last week tried to come back from 41pts down to fall short, tonight we blew a 32pt lead and didn’t even look like scoring 2nd half.

Need to get a win next week to get rolling again, lose to Demons and suddenly the season is going south quickly.

There were a few things that annoyed me but in particular, late in the game, Neale not playing front position cost us at least a few inside 50s. Over and over again he was behind his man and ineffective.

I can accept this if he was hampered by the ankle but then they should have subbed him and played sdk forward.

We have multiple problems across the ground, a bunch of young blokes still learning their trade, and an inability to maintain concentration and the required work rate for 4 quarters.

It's going to be an erratic year for us I suspect.

We won't beat Hawthorn unfortunately.

Needed to play 4 quarters to get the win up there tonight. Apparently high humidity - probably contributed but still we were pretty sloppy- several kicks that weren’t under pressure straight to them. Bit of fumbling. Forwards didn’t get lots of opportunities but they still needed to hold the ball in and take the limited chances we had. Some of our experienced players went a bit missing.
Annoyed but not really disappointed. Will beat the Dees and will need the points.

We have an issue in second halves. Are we still building fitness ? We would be well out scored against Freo and now Brisbane

Bad to lose after being in front . Frustrating as one could see that it was coming.

The positives are few but Mullins played well and COS continues to impress.
