Selwood achieved that about 8 rounds into his third
It's fun reading *Paul's AFL tables and looking at the miscellaneous player stats. It's remarkable that Duncan now has almost 200 more wins than Bailey Scott of norf (Gee, didn't he pull the wrong reign as a potential FS!) yet the latter has endured more defeats. Makes you realise what we get to enjoy as Cat fans.

Bringing Smith in for probably Clohesy sees that team tonight at pretty much full strength. Injuries aside, I’m not sure Bowes replaces Mullin? Maybe he does. Duncan doing enough to vindicate his selection albeit he will require management throughout the season. Ollie Henry? He’s best 22 in his best form but although he’s handy for a goal or two each week he’s not been doing much else. Martin has the ability to play both ends which will appeal.

Henry will come back next week because neale will be missing.
And clohesy isn't best 22.
But other than that you're right it's close to our best 22.

Yeah I'm not denying he has burnt team mates. Like I said, you get one or two of those moments a game. It'd be perfect if it was zero.

I guess what I'm saying is that because he is a high volume player who is heavy on (non scoring shot) score involvements, disposals, clearances - many of which involve assisting his team-mates - then you can forgive the odd misjudgement. More so than if he was just bobbing up with the ball 5 times a game.

Mannagh buzzes around relentlessly for 4 quarters like an all action Duracell bunny. Sometimes the moment gets to him. Remember, he's only played like 30 games at this level. I realise he's a mature ager but nothing is like the intensity of actual AFL grade stuff.

I get it though. It's human nature to lay the boot in on a couple of mistakes and brush aside the 15-20 good moments. We've done it with Duncan his whole career. Dangerfield too.
Buzzing is a good word to describe Mannagh. I was thinking cocky, which is a positive point of difference to his team mates who are all pretty much level headed (with the exception of Bailey but I don’t know how to describe him).

Mark O'Connor is having the type of season that will take us deep into September.

Role players unite!

After years of watching him skulk about in a back pocket doing a lot of vague and unrewarded positional running understood only by himself and Chris Scott, I'm very glad he's finally getting to attack the footy. Turns out a big-bodied defensive mid who can lay and wear a tackle, has a bit of pace, can win the footy, and dispose of it accurately, is an asset. Who'd of thunk it? He seems to have taken over some of Zach Tuohy's role, now that I think about it.

I think the best thing in this one is the consistency we played with. We had some pretty inexperienced players out there and they didn't back down at any point.

Holmes and Stengle outstanding. Loved what MOC brought. Atkins, Stewart, Miers all great.

People like to throw stones at Neale but I hope they think about this when we're targeting Ollie Henry as the key forward in the coming weeks

Interesting you mention the inexperienced players. We actually had more players with less than 100 games experience on the park than the Suns did.

Hardly laying the boot in mate, just pointing out something that I hope he can improve while I also spoke about how much he contributes to the team.

It’s ok to recognise errors and look to improve. Not sure about the Duncan reference but you’re right players that are heavily involved in pressured parts of the game will be I’ve forced to make mistakes due to being in that position so often. Danger a great example of this, like I said it’s great Mannagh gets himself in dangerous positions he just needs to make them count.

As he develops if he improves aspects like this he’ll take his game to a very high level. It surprises me that his name keeps getting mentioned on here as trade bait. If he can keep developing he’s got the potential to be one of our best players.

2 takeaways from the game that were dodgy and frustrating

1. Mac Andrew held onto Cameron all night with no frees paid

2. Rowell is a dirty bastard, he was giving Clohesy little punches all night even in front of the ump and nothing paid, i was yelling at the ump infront of me to watch it

Every team needs the odd goal hungry player especially us, as we were probably top heavy with ‘over sharers’
Having said that Mannagh isn’t too bad in that area, just a couple of moments each game.
Probably get better as he cements a regular spot in the team

I'd have a look at COS up forward.

Always seemed like a guy playing within himself and safety first. Very skilful in the Gaelic footage I have seen.

I initially thought he could have given it to Close but a wider shot revealed he was covered.
He was entitled to the shot , pity he missed it - would have capped off a great passage.

Sometimes selflessness can become infectious, I like it when a few players have that Menegola-ike quality to just go for it, even if they miss it. The probability of the chain doesn't change that much even when moving the ball to player in a better position.
I remember 2008 the Mooney and Johnson so called giving off to other player competition, came the Grand final and Mooney had forgotten how to kick them himself under pressure.

Felt like a gulf of quality between the two sides. The scoreboard really didn’t do us justice imo

Not one for umpire bashing but it felt as if we got a rough ride. What was that 50 that wasn’t in the first quarter?

Good debut for Martin and just a good showing by most everyone. Bank the points and onto next week!
We got rolled again by that blonde umpire..Nathan?? He often does us dirty in games from memory . How many holding the balls did they get away with?? Unreal.
